Anyone familiar with this flat ride?

This was at Australia's Wonderland. It looks like a standing trabant and an insurance liability nightmare. Anyone know exactly what this thing did?

It looks kind of like Wipeout at Canobie Lake in NH.

LOL! Look how relaxed some of the people are in the photos. One guy is leaning on the rail like he's waiting for someone to hand him a cold beer. I'll bet this ride didn't go very fast. What a strange ride.

A bazaar ride indeed, looks as exciting as riding the escalator a few times...

It reminds of an old ride seen on various film clips of Coney Island.
