company picnic?

Does the company you work for take you to your local amusement park for your company picnic?If not they should!Mine used to take us to Geauga lake,but they have not in about eight years.I ask them every year to go somewhere but they won't because alot of the employees wouldnt show up.That sucks!

My union local is having a picnic at Knoebels this summer. We pay $10 a person, have a catered meal in one of the pavillions, and will get either ride tickets of handstamp for the rides. The best thing is that the $10 is refunded to us once we show up at the picnic. It's just so they can get an accurate head count for the food.

This idea was brought up at my company last summer. They explained at a meeting that it wasnt beneficial and to expensive. While I love coasters and my homepark(SFGAm), I do agree with them. Unless the company you work for has multiple establishments in a local area that can foot the bill, its really not a good money decision. Although they do offer discounts where I work for SFGAm to offset this.

The place where my husband works has had their company picnic at Six Flags over Texas for the past several years. The $6 per person fee includes parking, a catered lunch at the picnic pavillion, and entry to the park. The first time we went to one of these, the picnic was on a Saturday; we didn't stay long because the park was very crowded. Last year it was on a Sunday, though, and we had a much better experience. I rode ShockWave for the first time in my life, and that's what got me hooked on coasters! :)

YEARS ago the company my father worked for used to have their company picnic at Williamsgrove, but later stepped up in the world and switched to Hersheypark.

When I was in college I worked at a grocery store headquartered in Sunbury PA and the had their annual picnic at Knoebels. Unfortunately, on the day that they had the picnic they gave the Full Time people off and all of the part time staff had to cover for them, so I never got to go.

Where I've been working since 1988 no such luck.

When my dad used to work for IBM back in the early 80's, they would have a function @ SFGAm every fall. I'm not sure if they rented out the *whole* place, but the weather was never exactly *stellar* so the crowds were light anyway. I didnt really ride coasters then, but the line was always pretty short for all the other rides, like the Yankee Clipper flume.

Millrace, where do you work? Just curious, my dad used to work at Anheuser-Busch and they had their's at Wyandot.

Myself, our company has ours at parks all over the country. Locally, we go to PKI. This year's was scheduled for May 18, but it was cancelled due to this economy. I was upset at first, but then realized I can go anytime!

I work for the State of NJ and we no longer have ANY picnics, let alone cool ones like at SFGAdv :(
