There is also an alpine coaster in park city, ut and a new one is being built at adventure ridge in vail.

most of the alpine coasters have a centrifugal brake that prevents you from going too fast.

That looks SO fun! :) They look more fun than the slides at Ober Gatlinburg.

So it's basically an Alpine Slide but with cars on a track?

^It (alpine coaster) is basically a rollercoaster with an unconventional car...and user-controlled braking! :)

The Slide (now that I'm back "on track", so to speak) is more like a flying turns only with a trough of concrete instead of cypress...and an unconventional car.

The slides can be fiberglass too.

The coasters have full wheel assemblies locking the cars to the rails.

The elevator in my office building is the closest thing to a Freefall outside of a Six Flags or Cedar Fair park. It's one step away from being it's own little Tower of Terror.
