The Roller Coaster Effect-Does going up mean going down?

With the cost of living and everything, for that matter, continuing to incline, does this mean that there will be a gradual decline on major, larger projects being built?

All industries have periods of ups and down. Right now, we are down compared to the insanity of 1999-2001. But, compare where we are now to say the early 70s and the industry is thriving.
