I am just wondering how you are basing your rankings of the companies, is it on rides built or rides to your taste?

Most of us agree that CP could benefit from a good replacement for Mean Streak.

Since we're in the almost-baseless speculation thread I can almost guarantee if CP builds a new wooden coaster in the next few years it will not replace Mean Streak.

Just a hunch.

Would you have said the same thing about Hercules a few years ago? ;)

I would have at least correctly guessed Hercules to get torn down before MS.

CP has had plenty of chances to dump the ride, maybe they still plan on doing it but it seems like if they wanted to that badly they would have already chomped on the proverbial bullet. Maybe not.

Now that SFMM is out of the way (for now) it would depend on if CP would allow their coaster count to drop to 16.

If I were CP ;) I would burn it down, steal the kiddie coaster from the local fair, and *Whala*, I remain with 17 coasters and a new one with the same value as Mean Streak. ;)

Okay Arthur, now you bring Canobie into this discussion. As mush as i'd like to see Canobie get a new coaster, I'd kind of like to see them get a nice floorless. Plus, Caonbie needs to get a bit more land to put in another good woodie.

^This is a park that hasn't built a coaster in 20 years (a used one, at that) and you're hoping for a "nice floorless"?

Like a B&M floorless you mean?

lol...a floorless at Canobie, let alone a "nice" one.

IMO, CP should replace Mean Streak with a dueling GCI akin to Lightning Racer, but with more intensity of course. Or how 'bout just a single "great" woodie and use the remaining freed-up realestate for some "shocker" flat rides? They wouldn't even have to cut down any trees! ;)

^I would like a racing/dueling woodie like LR at CP where MeanStreak is -- but only if GCII builds it.

If they were going to get rid of MS they would've done it years ago. I personally don't like the ride, but my daughter does, so I do ride it. And every one of the three times I've rode it in the past year we've had to wait at least 20 min. to ride, (even with multiple trains). So to me that means the ride still has an audience.

Plus, with Maverick having moved in, and the revitalization of Frontiertown well under way, (if not complete), MS is looking at possibly getting a huge second chance, and increasing ridership even more in the future.

I would be hugely surprised if that thing gets leveled in the next 10+ years.
