Pakr with most defunct roller coasters?

Hey, which park do you guys think has had the most removed coasters in it's history? I think Riverside (now SFNE) has had the most, recently. Black Widow, Rolling Thunder, and the Little Twister. I'm sure other parks have had more. Which ones?

Can the park be defunct also?

Knott's Berry Farm can have share of. If you count in seperate tracks, the park has defunct/removed SEVEN individual tracks. But all together, they've removed/defunct THREE coasters. The list ~


Corkscrew (Single Track)
- Opened 1975
- Relocated 1989 to Silverwood Park in Idaho

Wacky Soap Box Derby Racers (Four Tracks/Quadruplet)
- Opened 1978
- Removed 1996 & replaced by Windjammer Surf Racers

Windjammer Surf Racers (Two Tracks/Twin)
- Opened 1997
- Closed 2000 & To Be Removed 2001-2002

What coasters from "The Point" are defunct/removed?

As far as I know... not many, if any! (well... maybe the Cyclone, I think)

Jumbo Jet and Wildcat were also removed from Cedar Point.

The Wildcat is gone. When did that happen?

1 of them is closed. Cedar Point has had a total of 2 Wild Cat rides one is still there the other was moved to Valleyfair! and is now someware in New Jersey.

What kind of ride was the other Wildcat? Surely CP didn't have two Wildcats in the park at once...

If you want to count all rides throughout its 100+ year history, CP would have to be up there if not first.

I don't think it has had the most, but SFGAd has had a lot.

Shockwave - Intamin stand-up, relocated from SFMM in 1990 and relocated to SF Astroworld in 1993 as Batman The Escape

Lightning Loops - twin Arrow shuttled, relocated to Adventure World (SFA) and Frontier City in 1993 to make room for B:TR

Ultra Twister - TOGO, relocated to Astroworld

I'm sure I have missed one or two, can anyone else name them?

Cedar Point had several other defunct coasters. There was the Cyclone(72 foot woodie), the Switchback Railway(CP's first Ride), Three-Way Figure Eight Roller Toboggan(woodie), The Racer(previous ride, only renovated), The Leap the Dips Scenic Railway(woodie where Blue Streak is now Located) , Leap Frog Railway(Renovated Leap the Dips), Wild Mouse(Wooden wild mouse), the other Wildcat(Similar to persent day Wildcat, only smaller), Jumbo Jets(where DT stands today)

So technically it would be 9 except two those were renovated... this concludes today's history lesson.

If I am correct, Opryland (defunct park) in Nashville, TN had 5 roller coasters until they removed the park. They had an enclosed Vekoma, a Vekoma inverted, an Arrow mine train, an Intamin bobsled, and another Arrow looping coaster.

If you count Coney Island as a whole it definatly has the most. Thunderbolt, Tornado, Pippin, Loop the Loop, Flip-Flap, Switchback Railway, Figure-8, Steeplechase. That's 8 all ready, and I know I don't have all of them by a long shot.

Are you serious about removing Corkscrew, that's CP's definative ride, more so than Raptor, Magnum, or MF. CP, the park didn't remove those coasters, the coaster's owners removed coaster because they weren't profitable. Remember all of CP's attractions were owned by differant people until the 50's. Also, the depression caused a lot of coasters to get demolished, as did WW2, and the Prohibition. Also, some coasters were simply demolished because they were obsolete and too common, like the Figure-8 and switchback Railway. Why would CP demolish coaster when they still have lots of room?

PKI has had quite a few, im not sure about all of them but i do know for sure about two on them. The Bat and Screamin' Demon. Actually screamin' demon was just moved to another park.

Blue Streak, a family/kiddie coaster now Green Slime Mine Ride at PGA, and Bavarian Beetle, a Galixi style coaster, were also removed from PKI in addition to The Bat, the famous suspended coaster, and Screamin Demon, the first operational-for-public shuttle loop relocated to Camden Park as Thunderbolt Express(supposedly under repair and to open in 2002).
