Does M:TR use skid brakes or *squeeze* brakes? ;)

We saw a happy accident happen with Twister on our first visit to Knoebels. The guy at the control panel forgot to press the button to activate the skid brakes and the train went roaring through the station. No one onboard seemed upset as they got a free ride!:) *** Edited 3/22/2007 1:49:36 AM UTC by Intamin Fan***

The big problem with using a curved station is that you can't use fin-braking.

Magic Mountain's Ninja would beg to differ.

Ninja's station has a bend in the middle. It's not curved over all. ;)

I worked on the CP Blue Streak the last 2 years before they mussed it up, 1992-93. Those old skid brakes, if properly maintained and run my a proficient crew, work great. But I did have a couple "scary close call" experiences on the streak during storms.

Either way, too bad about the Blue Streak, that was a beautiful and beautifully maintained ride...
