Will Holiday World get another holiday in the future?

ST Patricks day would be the next best Holiday, as it could be VERY themed as a fantasy Leprichaun land.

How about a fourth of july patriotic section of the park. I think a fourth of july would kind of be a mix between a memorial day and a presidents day. It seems like a good idea to me, but then again, I am not in charge of it.

^ The Fourth of July section is the largest in the park...although Halloween and Thanksgiving have the better coasters (no offense to Holidog)... ;)

For Groundhog day: free "Wick-a-Groundhog" games near every ride.

And ERT with Andie McDowell. Woo hoo!

I like the idea of a ultra Christian Easter theme. Nothing says family fun like being reminded of crucifixion. Perhaps they could have a cave tour that never seems to end and then miraculously does after three days. Or beverage lines so long you have to turn your own sweat into wine. Free foot bathing while you wait in long lines.

I'll just "pass over" that one.

Brad, I think you may have something there. Maybe instead of a ball drop, they could have a symbol from a different hollidy on a different day (pumpkin, turkey, picture of uncle sam, ect).

Maybe they could have a section devoted to various internatioal holidays.

A quick search of "little known holidays" turns up a wealth of possibilities.

Carnivorous Plant Appreciation Month - think of the theming possibilities and yummy restaurant tie-ins!

Parsley Day - Any sage can tell you it's thyme we celebrated this one.

Duck-billed Platypus Day - Be kind to your web-footed friends!

and

International Sloth Day - because those crews at you-know-who's parks need a litte love too.

You're not even allowed to 'shoot' the turkeys. There's no way we'd be encouraged to stomp the weasels. :)

(and no, those aren't euphemisms ;) )

Election Day!

All the fun of lining up at the polls and pretending you have a say in things. :)

I like the idea of Election Day. Add a carousel with all elephants and donkeys... maybe even one or two Ross Perot and Joe Lieberman chariots (gotta represent the independents). Of course. there'd be a lot of theft in that "election section".

Tax Day's not a bad idea either. Add a second Sally darkride where you get to shoot at various write-offs. The higher the score, the higher the refund!

^^LOL! Thats great!

I had an idea for exspansion of the Christmas section. Does HW own any extra land across the park where the water tower and extra parking lot are? If so, couldn't the park dig a tunnel under the road (like the one that connects the parking lots) and continue over there? I could see a great classical christmas carousel and maybe a fun little gerstlaur bobsled coaster with a nice theme to replace the old firecracker. *** Edited 3/13/2007 12:30:44 AM UTC by DantheCoasterman***

The Christmas section really could use some expansion because there isn't enough for grown-ups to do. A couple of major rides themed to Christmas would be a great idea. Also, Sally already has an interactive darkride designed as a trip through Santa's Workshop. They did two installations of it in the Far East. Wouldn't HW be the best place to have it here in the U. S.?

I think a carousel would look great in the courtyard in the front of the park where the water fountains are.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

^ The saying goes "no harm no foul".

But YOU have been harmed...by not getting yourself to HW. Do so. Soon! And, ummmm, don't wait for the holiday rush... ;)

We *almost* did that several years ago, but decided there wasn't enough room. Mark from Zamperla won out that year -- sold us the HallowSwings.
