I don't know what kind it was. There were no cars to be seen and I wouldn't be able to tell them apart anyway. The only thing I noticed that may help identify it is that the wheels had tread instead of being treadless like the one at Kennywood. This one also had springs under where the cars went versus air bags like on Kennywoods.

I'm sure it wasn't a Vekoma, B&M or Zamperla!

From the article, it seems the only ground sold was the parcel the Steam Association was already using for their events (the "alternate" entrance). The park and speedway were still retained, but I don't know if those are on separate lots or not.

I doubt the Steam people would be operating the park. Now whether the park owners would open it for "big" events on the Steamers side would be up to them. So the owners just got a couple mil, but they're not the least bit interested in running the park. And probably not interested in re-investing the proceeds from the land sale into the park. Meanwhile places like CLP would kill for that kind of money.

I'm still trying to figure out why they were selling piles of dirt. I thought that coasterpunk was kidding, but going by what I've read, he was being completely serious.

People will buy anything. Taken a cruise through Ebay lately?

I kinda would have thought they would have had to pay somebody to haul it away! What is in the dirt in central PA to make it so valuable?

Pretty smart on their part. Instead of paying someone to get rid of the stuff by hauling it off, they got people to pay to remove it themselves. Dirt included, apparantly.

That being the case, I got some magic beans if any of you are interested...

Call it topsoil or clean fill and you can get someone to pay for it.
