Disneyland and Califorina Adventure trip question

I'm planning s trip to Disneyland and Califorina's Adventure but I just have one question first. How many days do you think I will need to see both parks? I know both parks have alot to offer but I'm only interested in the main rides and shows.

I just went for 5 days.

By the 3rd day, I had done it all, but the parks were only buisy on one of those days.

If the parks are not busy, I would say just one day in each if your just interested in just the main rides and shows.

Two days should be enough for all of the major attractions.

I usually go for a three day hopper - one full day and two partial days, usually planned around flights into LA and Solace at KBF. This is usually more than enough time to hit everything several times. It all depends on the time of year. I usually go in March and the crowds are managable.

You only really need 2 days, but you need to park hop to do everything. Spend one full day and the morning of a second at Disneyland. DCA can easily be done in 3/4 of a day.

It really depends on crowds. I was there last Christmas and we got everything done and then some in 3 days. That was with wall-to-wall people. 2 days should be enough if the crowds are light.

I'd go 3, because I like to take it slow at Disneyland and enjoy all the cool little things, atmosphere, history, etc. Stuff like the Disney Gallery in N.O. Square, eat at the Blue Bayou, etc.

Are you going as a coaster enthusiast, or a park enthusiast? If the former, two days is fine. If the latter, you'll really need three to dig in.

If you're not sure, buy a two-day ticket. You can always extend it to a third day, paying only the difference, up to the end of your second day. You'll lose advance purchase discounts, but still.

Even if you are there primarily for the rides, I would strongly encourage you to see Aladdin in DCA and Fantasmic at DL.

Not to mention Remember: Theres Magic in the Sky has been extended to this spring. From all accounts this Firework show is the best Disney has ever made, and worth seeing.

I have a semi-related question that doesn't justify its own thread. So, sorry for the thread jack. But, I'm planning a trip in March for the Mountain, Knott's, and the two Disney parks. Where's a good place to stay that's central to all four? My friend and I are just going to do one park a day and drive to each one on that day.

Any ideas?

I'd stay near Disney. You're then not far from Knotts. But, with no traffic (like that ever happens!) SFMM is 90 minutes away. That way you only have 1 day with a significant drive.

This show is worth scheduling your visit around, even though it will likely mean a Friday or Saturday. It made every other Disney, and all non theme park fireworks show I've seen in my life look like crap! I wasn't expecting anything when I saw it (I'm not too into fireworks...would rather be on the rides!), but it blew me away. You must sit on Main St., or in the hub to watch, no exceptions :)

I've stayed at the Anaheim Marriot. Nice place but a little pricy at $150 a night. However, it was close to the Disneys and within a 10-minute drive to Knott's. Magic Mountain was just over an hour there but 2 1/2 hours back.
