Finally discovery channel is getting back into coaster programs it seems?

Perhaps in 2007 we just might get treated to a memorial day line up of coaster shows like the good old days before that american chopper BS took over.

Motorcycle shows air one night a week on Discovery Channel. I'd hardly call that taking over.

I'd say Poker took over Discovery and Travel Channel. What does watching men who spend all of their family's money on a game of Poker have anything to do with Discovery or Travel.

^I agree & even worse why on earth does ESPN consider poker to be a sporting event?

"If the Park can't get the ride up, tested and ready for the Spring break crowds 2007 this 21 million dollar investment won't be worth a penny."

They sure are exaggerating a bit, eh? Not to mention they've got the entire year wrong. *** Edited 12/25/2006 4:17:21 PM UTC by SFNE Freak***

Poker on ESPN makes more sense then people criticising people clothes, migdets running a farm, and bikers constructing choppers, etc. on The Learning Channel!

I Hate Poker because of the huge TV coverage it has got.

I think most basic-cable channels that might have started out as one thing totally became something else once reality t.v. became a more profitable medium.

A&E, TLC/Discovery Channel, Bravo, VH1, MTV etc. have all changed towards more reality, scripted-drama, and humiliation t.v. (Peabody's reference to What not to wear being an example). I think if we went back in the way-back machine, none of these channels would look the same.

It's really sad that I remember the days that VH1 and MTV would actually play videos, and believe it or not, on MTV they would actually play the whole video, not just half of a video with a bunch of screaming teenagers that keep interrupting the video.

Sure, even back then MTV had some craptacular shows like Remote Control, and Singled Out so the channel wasn't always great. I still enjoy the Challenges, but this year's Real World in Denver is downright scary so far.

I watch tv just about every night of the week, and I can recall seeing AC, as well as, other motorcycle docs. on Discovery more than one night a week.

As far as the poker being on Travel Channel Gomez. Me and the wife have asked ourselves the same question before, and the only way we could see TC justifying poker on their channel was that the show travels to new destinations all the time! I guess in a very weak way that would cover the "Travel" in TC's title.

Awsome, awsome awsome program. Wait till you watch the positioning of tatsu's crown piece. WOW! It aired here in Ontario awhile back lets say around early november. I wouldn't miss it if I were you.

Ask not what you can do for a coaster, but what a coaster can do for you.

Maybe there is a revial of shows on roller coasters since National Geographic did a show on Roller coasters like TTD, Flight of Fear, Thunderhead, and others.

I know it is only two shows but it is a start.

PS. That show had some guy who built a roller coaster in his backyard anyone know what the name is of this coaster.

What ever happened to The Discovery Channel show, "Building the Biggest" about the building of Voyage, Kentucky Rumbler, and El Toro?

It was supposed to air in the U.S. in 2006, but never did. I think it was only shown in Canada.

I have been waiting all year to see it!

I want to see the documentary about the Myrtle Beach Pavilion that they were shooting during the last rides event September 30th ... ;)

If anyone sees anything about such a special let me know as I absolutely don't want to miss it!

It only aired in Canada and perhaps Europe. I was sent a ripped digital copy.....nice show. I'd post it, but it's like 400meg. Sorry :(

The "Building The Biggest" show made the rounds on BitTorrent. I'd be willing to bet you can still snag it if you look around a bit. :)

Although, I think it's better that the "Secret 9" thing never hit the enthusiast community at large or every kid with an interest in coasters would be bugging the parks everytime they build a new coaster expecting to be 'consulted' on the project.

Cool little show though.

Ok, the show is on tonight at 8pm and again at midnight. It is also going to be replayed on the 4th,6th,and 10th.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Thanks for the update....perhaps it'll give me some time to program the DVR to record one of the later broadcasts.

Funny thing is that, instead of repeating the show at 11pm they're repeating it at 12 am & putting some sort of show about futuristic weapons on instead.Usually the programming schedule covers the 8pm to 10 pm time slots & then repeats the 8pm program at 11 pm.
