Griffon - BGE now topped off.

Well, I was on RCDB and noticed that Griffon at BGE is now topped off. I don't know when the tallest piece was put into place but im going to guess Dec. 11th since there is a press release on the RCDB homepage with that date posted.

Thanks for the link. I hadn't seen the other three pics yet. That area looks really strange without the LeMans Raceway. I'm expecting the same amount of disorientation that I did with both of the state-side Italian Jobs.

Nice. I can't wait. BGE- one of the best theme parks outside of Disney- is about to get even better. It's not a wood coaster, but all things considered, this will be a great addition to the park. Those floorless trains will probably add a little something (or take away a little something, depending on how you look at it), especially in the front row!

As we were leaving the park near the end of the season and we were going down the highway, we passed a truck with a piece of track on it on it's way there to deliver it. It was a treat to see it going down the road like that, just when I though all my fun with the park was over! :P

I really hope to be able to visit again next year. I enjoy this park a lot!

Looks as if the ride along the top of the lift will be breathtaking. Looks much higher then it is.

Anyone else think that Apollo's Chariot will have a lot shorter lines because of the addition of Griffon. I know riding Shiekra is great and I can't wait until Shiekra gets its new floorless trains in the years to come. I think that Dive Coasters are much better than hypers.

Dont get me wrong hypers are great but the hanging part of Shiekra is the best part of the ride. Also going up the lift hill is a lot scarier becuase you feel like if your seat was just a little bet more leaning back you would fall backwards to your death.

It will be great.

Due to this ride, BGE's crowds are going to shift back to their tradtional counter clockwise trip around the park, which will mean earlier lines at Alpengeist too. I also would not be too suprised if the order of staggered openings switches from Germany being closed for 1/2 hour after opening to Italy being the last to open like it used to pre AC.

I cant wait to ride Griffon! Sheikra is such an amazing ride and one of the few I could probably ride non-stop for days because it is so fun. Something about em'!

I was scanning through the RCDB library and came accross too new pictures of Griffon. It looks like they are now testing the Griffon trains and sending them around the track. Anyone have some new information on the coaster I can get excited about?

I was there Mon and Tues They are testing but only after the park is closed. I was told this by 4 different employees. It looks amazing by the way.

^ To add onto your comment, how can the train hold thirty people on twenty four wheels without to much strain? The wheels and bracing must be incredibly strong.

That's surprisingly fast! I havent seen a B&M whip around turns like that in a long time. I realize it'll be slower once they put the water in, but even the first first inversion is fast

The duration time of the course will probably be reduced once they play around with the wheels. They will more then likely add some softer nilon wheels for more grip. Just a guess though.

I think that bunny hop right before the water splash will be intense. Right after the secong inversion to. Looks like a fun ride.
