Intamin SLC

I found that there's two Intamin SLC coasters out there and here's one of em:

Just wondering if anyone's been on there. They look great, the elements look fun, not sure on the comfort level. There's lots of Vekoma and B&M Inverts but only two of these out there. Anyone been on one? Are they painful, smooth etc?

I love most B&M Inverts, and the Vekoma SLCs are kinda hit or miss on pain factor for me. Would love to check the Intamin version out.

It look's like a wantabe Raptor.

Keep your head high and the coaster's higher.

Had to figure out what makes those *different* from PKD's Volcano, since as you noted there's only two rides listed as "Intamin SLCs"...other than the obvious launching.

Apparently that IS the difference, Intamin's term for V:TBC being "Suspended Catapult Coaster" (one-of-a-kind, Intamin's other launched inverts all being shuttles).

Volcano also has "looping" of a sort...but it woulda been WAY better if it featured a vertical loop like these others...IMO.

That's odd,I thought this was the same park formerly known as WBMW that opened in 2002...as the name of the park was changed after SF backed out of their management contract a couple years ago.

They are not. Looks have little to do with a coaster being rough. In general: Intamin- pretty smooth ,Vekoma-anuerism inducing.

Those supports on the loop are really ugly. But I'm sure it rides much better than a SLC.

Better pratice that look of surprise...the Intamin SLCs are vestly superior in comfort to the Vekoma.

What Moosh said. All reports say these non-launched Intamin inverted coasters are really, really good.

I wish people wouldn't use the acronym SLC to refer to other manufacturers rides... yes, I know what it stands for, but the SLC is a Vekoma product. The type of ride is an Inverted Coaster, and the one linked to above is a good ride.

HAHA, no kidding... I think they've got that loop plenty supported. I don't think its going anywhere:

I wonder why they decided to use so much support on the loop and on this ride in general... Just seems like there is an excessive amount. Then again they have had some troubles on their other types of coasters.. I'm sure there is good reason..

I had the great privledge to ride the Tornado during the ECC Coolest Coasters trip back in 2003, and it is amazing. Especially the zero G roll, THROUGH A MOUNTAIN!

Not to mention the the entire station is also built inside the same monuntain, and as your waiting for your train to depart, those sitting in the 1st row, get to observe the trains going through that zero G roll element.

The Supports remind me a lit of the ones On Premier Top Hats.

I knew about the Intamin SLC (yes Intamin calls them SLC) in Finland but never this one.

Knowing it is designed by Werner Stengal
(as all Intamin's are) and not some Dutch person at Vekoma, leads me to believe that the ride is probably pretty good.

There are POV's posted on theme park review dot com of both rides.

Both rides look like a lot of fun.

Yep, Intamin's website says Suspended Looping Coaster...........SLC. Some self-proclaimed "experts" really aren't.
