Will Morgan trains fit on Arrow's track?

Morgan track looks identical to Arrows so I was thinking why not put Morgan trains on Excalibur @ VF and Magnum @ CP? The trains are more roomy and the lapbars stay put better and don't fall down tight as easily as Arrows and they may be smoother!

They probably would fit as Phantom's Revenge at Kennywood was built by Arrow and is being changed by Morgan.

Magnum's trains are aparently getting a nice makeover this year. I think a big thing was to fix the axel problem from last year. Change any arrow other than Magnum. Changing the Magnum trains should/should be a crime.

Just my opinion, but Magnum and Wild Thing have the fattest, ugliest coaster trains of any of the US hypercoasters. They're so bulky. I like the least amount of surrounding as possible.

Hey, if you want ugly. Check out Morgan's trains on Steel Dragon over in Japan. Those are the bulkiest, boxiest and one of the ugliest coaster trains I have ever seen. They look like they used spare Yugo parts and that they are planning on adding a roof and windshield eventully!! :)

The Magnum trains will look GREAT this year.

Magnum trains are like any other Arrow mine train. How are they bulky?

Wild Thing on the other hand, is a Morgan and does have bulky trains. Look at a photo and the people can barely see out of the thing. That's far different from an Arrow train.

Magnum's trains are waayyyyy smaller than WT's. I'm 6'1" and have a hard time looking past the front of the nose of WT's trains. I have a better view from Magnum's 'ejector seat' (Row 3) than I do from the first row of WT.

Arrow Mine Trains are supposed to be bulky. When I think hypers, trains used on intamins and B&Ms seem much more open. Instead of feeling like your covered almost like a simulator box car.

Morgan's trains and Arrow's trains are mechanically practically identical except for one very important change. Each car is based on a square-tube spine beam. Arrow mounts the axles to the top of this beam, while Morgan attaches the axles to the bottom. This means the Morgan cars sit higher off the track than the Arrow cars do, and rotate on an axis further away from the center of the car.

Prediction about Magnum...

If the trains are being more extensively overhauled than usual (remember, every off-season Cedar Point completely tears down and rebuilds their coaster cars), then it probably means some new body panels and other mechanical repairs. If this is done in the usual Cedar Point fashion, the results will be nearly impossible for the casual observer to detect. Just as nobody noticed the last time they replaced a Magnum nosepiece, or when they replaced a couple of Iron Dragon tubs.

That's true, after riding some of the great Inatmin and B&M Hyper trains I have to remind myself that Magnum (with it's trains in comparison) came 10 years before those fine Swiss folk built one.

Magnum trains look cool, though. They just do.

Being the first hypercoaster, and the one with the most prestige attached to it, changing trains would be a crime.

Morgan, however, does have some issues. They're putting trains on Phantom's Revenge, and even without the OTSRs, I find myself thinking that they won't do much good.

B&M/Intamin trains are wide open. I never really complain about Arrow trains being less open, and I really don't feel like doing it now. They have their own seperate charm.

It's coming...

To my knowledge Morgan has never fabricated any track for Arrow.Arrow does the majority of their work in house, with local Utah sub-contractors helping out when deadlines get too tight or multiple rides are built at once. Occasionally, support structure for the ride is fabricated locally in relation to the park to save the park shipping costs, etc. but the track itself is not done this way.
