Coney Island Cyclone should have restored trains (

hey, after seeing some photos of Coney Island Cyclone's trains, I am in shock! I can't belive how beaten up they are! Now, I know they should keep it a classic and not get PTC trains, but at least take off the existing trains and restore them. In other words, get new, but identical, lap bars, re-pad the seats, re-paint the trains. make the classic look nice!

If you're talking about the Coney Island Thunderbolt, you're a little late. As of last November it no longer exists.

I completely disagree. The only way to truly understand why the trains have not been refurbished is to ride it. Honestly, the old look and feel of the trains, with their leather seats, and leather cushoned lap bars are one of best parts of this ride. Not only that, but the painting on the outside of the trains gives it a great classic feel as well. Just leave it how it is, and don't try to modernize it... It is meant to look old and run down, anything else just wouldn't feel right.

Are those the original 1927 trains?

I've always been amazed that they are able to negotiate that tight layout, with all of those sharp fun curves and all, because the cars have four rows of seats. You would think that cars that big wouldn't be able to take those turns too well.

I think they are the original trains. I believe on one of the 3D coaster videos (the ones with the corny hosts and bad effects) they say they are the original trains and everything is custom on them. I think they even went as far to say all parts of the cars have to be machined by hand since there are no others are like it.

I personally love the cars the way they are and wouldn't change a thing. Besides all those layers of paint probably add some extra weight to the trains for a faster run. ;)

Fix them!! I don't think that the duct-tape makers would like that, just think of all the free advertising they get a year. ;) It just shows you that the tape can fix anything.
