Dark Rides at Chain Parks

It is just me or does Six Flags seem to be afraid of having dark rides? I mean the Paramount chain has a real Haunted House ride at some of their parks as well as the OL:FOF coasters. I think some of the Cedar Fair parks also have some darkened rides (Like the flume at KBF). I am a little disappointed that SF made Poltergeist and Joker's Jinx outdoor coasters. Part of what I liked about OL:FOF was that it was inside. I know that there is this highest, biggest, baddest coaster war, but couldn't they enclose a few rides every now and then? What do you all think?

I agree. I love not knowing where the heck you're going to go next. In preparation for Six Flag's takeover of Kentucky Kingdom, they got rid of the last traces of Starchaser, the only enclosed coaster there. I must admit, though, that Starchaser had some accidents.

I think air conditioning costs have a lot to with it.

I miss the dark rides at the big parks. Personally I don't consider the inclosed coasters to be dark rides, especially OL:FOF (Ouch!!!), but that's my opinion. The "Haunted House" at Paramounts parks are nice, but what I'd like to see is a serious scare your pants off dark ride, but I suppose that won't happen till I win some super Lotto and build my own bloodfest! Muhahahahahah

Nothing beats the old dark rides, especially like the Old Mill and Pretzel rides. I feel they are the (lost) soul of the parks! *hint, CP*

rember the pirat dark ride at cedarpoint?it wasent the scarest dark ride but it was fun.....also the best dark ride ive been on is at the myrtle beach pavilion park.
