SFGAdv - June 7th (crappy pics and video included)

^I dont know why but its a shame, Ive done rerides at SF, Busch, HP, and even Disney (E-Ride night.) My guess is that perhaps the company had a bad experience with people doing it sometime in the past (ie. refusing to leave once there was actually a line of the ride) and decided to not deal with that anymore.

Bottom line: avoid the Econo Lodge Bordentown like it has a disease for which no antidote exists (because it’s probably true).

Oh my God I knew EXACTLY which hotel you were talking about before you dropped the name.

wow, that's pathetic, and in the same time, why I think G-Adv needs an on-site hotel!

At least I learned to never put that much faith into travel sites :-\

Rain and no crowds? How WILL they ever pay down that debt?

With the $45 family chicken meal, I suppose. :p

Or they could convince people to rent Q-bots to avoid those horrible 3-minute waits. ;)

The funny thing is they had the signs out all over the place for the "All Inclusive Pacakge" - it's this deal where for $99 you get entrance to the park, flashpass rental, ride photos, meal and snack vouchers, souvenir cup with refills, a $10 merchandise voucher, five free games, go-kart admission, a rockwall climb and a ride on Eruption.

It's really a great offer - just not necessarily on days where there is only a thousand or so people in the park and many of those rides/attractions are not operating and those perks are not needed.

Hell, I never even saw the FlashPass building open all day.

But on a hot day, mid-summer, running at 'normal' attendace levels and I'd be hard pressed to pass something like that up.

^ THAT package is gonna sell like, well, like FastPasses on a busy day...if I'm going to the park once a year and it's that insane midsummer Saturday, LOL, I could really see the "perceived value" in that deal...and I'll bet 10,000 other people would too. Good luck trying to get a ride on Ka or Toro without a Fastpass then...

Right? :)

They bill it as a $200 value, so it's essentially half price.

Initially my thought was, "Oh man, deep discounts already", but then I figured if the average guest is scoring the $39 ticket and shying away from most in park spending due to the pricing then maybe they see this as something worth it and drop a guaranteed $100 rather than the $40 or $50 they might have otherwise. (although admittedly, it kind of goes against my general take on things, but a family of 4 handing over $400 at the gate cannot be hurting business)

You know what I'd have done? Added 'free parking' to the list of perks and made the price $119. In addition to all the crap you get, I'd also hand back $15 in cash. Odds are that $15 would get spent in the park. :)

I suppose it works like the free drink thing. I mean a park like HW pretty much made their only admission a $37 'package deal' that includes drinks rather than charging what similarly sized parks do and then selling drinks at 2 or 3 bucks a pop.

This feels a lot like a similar 'package deal' admission.

Great Adventure also offers all the same perks for $75 if you already have a ticket as well.

I think more parks need to look into this sort of thing. Various 'packages' that include more freebies as the price increases.

#1 Welcome to the Dayton-Cincinnati area Gonch! I heard about it on the podcast but didn't hear where exactely you were living.

#2 Awesome TR! I've really gotta get out to Jersey, it a haul for me, but if all things are up and running at the park it looks like it would be a great trip.

Thanks, man. :)

The haul from here to NJ is exactly why I made a point to get over there before we left Pittsburgh regardless of El Toro being open or not.
