Well my favorite park is not my favorite owner. Disney, well they haven't impressed me and Universal is amazing with IOA. But I am gona have to go with Busch. Tampa and Williamsburg are just too great parks. Cleanliness, beautiful forestry and gardens, great rides, and friendliness make for some amazing experiences.

This is likely not completely fair as I have not been to a Busch Park, but among the others, I would have to say I like Premier (Six Flags) parks. That may be biased as a SF park (GAm) was my home park, but I have been to CP (CF). PC, PCW, PKD, PKI (Paramount). Disneyland & MK. and SFA, SStL, SFoG, SFGAm. The SF parks seem to have a nice mixture of big thrills, flat rides, and decent shows. Lately though, the parks are all becoming mirror images of each other. And they are lacking dark rides. But their ride collection, combined with the sheer number of parks they have (all accessible by the same season pass) make them my personal fav.

2Hostyl, I think all parks are lacking dark rides. It's a lost artform in today's drive for the biggest and fastest coasters. :-( I have high hopes that Journey to Atlantis may spark a resurgence in the building of dark rides. The segment on the Discovery channel was very very cool. Hopefully other parks will start desiging indoor rides again because they sure were fun when I was young.

PS: My favorite park would have to be both PKI and CP. They both have their pros and cons, and I hate to put one over the other.

I enjoy going to disney owned parks because they are big on customer service. Last year, my teenage brother had the misfortune of having a large bird dropping land on his shirt. He was near one of the vendor's. The guy told him he couldn't walk around like that, and he was given a free t-shirt. I don't know if any other park would go that far. JJ-I'm with you on the dark rides. I enjoy them too.

Any family owned park. They seem to go that extra mile for you that the big chains tend to ignore.

I also like the big themed ones like Disney, Universal and Busch. Disney does have great costumer service, but you pay way to much at Disney. I do admit that Universal has the same entry price, but other things are cheaper and the food is much better. Universal just introduced a great thrill park so it gets a big edge over Disney.

The Disney chain is the best family park chain(IMHO). Cedar Fair (cough cough Cedar Point cough cough) is the best thrill park chain(IMHO). Cedar Fair parks are cheap, clean, and fun.

I would have to go with Cedar Fair over Premier and Disney. Knott's is just such a great park and Cedar Fair will only make it better. *** This post was edited by Tim Santa Cruz on 6/6/2000. ***

I think one of the best would be Universal IOA and Port Aventura are to of the best parks i've ever been to (and the most amazing theming, especially at Port Aventura)

For me it would have to be Paramount.
They always seem to be ahead of the pack when it comes down to new types of coasters.(Hyper looping woodie, super saturator, and flying coaster)

I really adore Cedar Fair, they really re-invest in their parks, and have revived their newly purchased parks. Knotts for example wasn't blossoming as is it now under the Cedar Fair family. And Dorney Park (my hometown park where i work) has undergone a revitalization in the past 8 years since it's purchase in 92. :)

I always injoy a visit to a Bush Park, even when they are ungodly overcrowded they are still fun. It is just something about the atmoshpere. They are sorta like Epcot's World Showcase on Steriods.

I like all of them for different reasons:

Paramount: Innovative, first of their kind rides. They don't always work, but they have the ----s to try.

Six flags: Lots and lots of coasters!

Cedar Fair: old fashion park values, great operations!

Busch- Beautiful park stressing quality over quantity.

Disney-They can make you feel like a child again.

You could mention Kennywood since it operates the three parks 1) Kennywood 2) Idlewild 3) Lake Compounce.

It's hard to beat the tradional "picnic park" feel of these parks. They don't have the money, the attendence, or the world class rides of the other parks but they have a very special charm all their own.

I would have to go with Cedar Fair. First of all they have Cedar Point the best park in the world. They also have Dorney Park and Valleyfair! which is a very underrated park.

CEDAR FAIR

all for one reason:
not the rides, not the cleanliness, not even the food(well maybe the food).

it is all about the friendly and courteous workers.
