International Theme Park Jobs

I'm from Australia and I'm looking at working in a US theme park next year for a couple of months on a student exchange visa. Has any one out there ever done a work in the US programme before and worked in a US theme park. What was it like was it good? What are the good parks that are open in the US winter?

When I worked at Paramount's Great America, we had quite a few exchange students from all over the world. They, along with the rest of us, had a blast! I'm sure their fun was tripled by the fact that they were in a new place etc. Not to mention all the lovely parties...well...the ones I could remember anyway. :)

You might want to check the details of Cedar Point at www.cedarpoint.com and jump in the employee forum at www.guidetothepoint.com. I think at least a quarter of the seasonals there are non-US.

Someone with a better memory can probably help with this, but I'm pretty sure I saw an article in Amusement Business that said that parks were hiring their international students through an agency or program. Does anyone know the name or address of the agency?

It would seem to me that you really don't need to go through an agency. I hire summer interns through the university I work at and a majority of them are international students. When I do hire them, we have to write a justification letter to extend a work visa. It's relatively easy.

I'm assuming that most parks HR departments have a system in place that handles this. I would suggest if you are interested in a particular park, contact them, and they'll guide you through the process.
