I got to ride Exp. Everest 3x's in a row!!! No fastpass, no handicapps!

I got to ride it 3 times because my Freshman high school class took our annual trip to Orlando to take classes at MGM Studios and NASA.

Is it any good?
Did Yetti look real?

So when I post about Everest... no one seems to care? odd...

Anyways, it's great!

And the line is very fast. I was once outside the line and got on the ride in less then 15 minutes.

Is it a lot of fun? How's the ride? Need more info! :)

The ride was awesome, I'd have to say it's the best themed roller coasters to date anywhere besides The Mummy!!! Disney's Yeti could kick Universal Studios King Kong "Ballon on a gimble" any day!!!

I'm curious about when/how the coaster turns back around forward after the backwards part. I know the backwards part begins where the Yeti has ripped up the track, but then when does the coaster turn back around forward for the ending?

Thrillerman, after the lift, you make a diving left turn to where you see the ripped up track ahead of you as you mentioned. The train stalls as the track rotates then the train procedes backwards into the mountain. after traversing a 180* turn inside the mountain backwards, the train once again stalls on another hill where you can see the outline of the yeti through a wall ripping up more track. The train then starts going fowards again and right down the main drop out of the front of the mountain. The backwards portion is relatively short in comparison to the forward portion of the ride. Then again, the whole ride is pretty short. I hope that clears things up a little.

The backwards travel portion was QUITE intense... yummy!

As with all of the top-notch Disney attractions, the ride experience is MUCH greater than *just* the coaster ride.

Glad to hear that you didn't have to get roped into Fastpass.

Sounds like a good ride, but even after watching the video, it really does look like a short ride.

Glad to hear all the positives about Expedition Everest. I will be heading out to Disney World in July to take my first ride on this amazing addition to Animal Kindom. Can't wait!!!

The coolest part to me about seeing all the videos on the internet, plus the clips on the tv specials is how Disney works this whole thing. They do it in total Disney style.

While you have these meetings with the Yeti, your attention is obviously on him, and the track switches are happening behind you, and around you. The system seems so quiet that it must really shock you at first when you fall backward, or jet forward and the scenery changes on you!

I'm not always Disney's biggest fan, in fact, during the building of this monster I had very little interest in it. When I saw the first ride video of it...it rocked my world to the point where I can't wait to get there again just for EE. *** Edited 4/26/2006 2:00:21 AM UTC by Floorless Fan***

I took the EXACT opposite tack...conscientiously avoided seeing or hearing about EE as much as possible. Either way, I doubt *anyone* would be disappointed (although a longer track wouldn't have hurt my feelings, LOL).
