V2 & SUE Ageing

Well here are my thoughts i am an mechanical engineer and it bogles my mind the way that SUE and V2 hang i wonder if the added stress and movement to this coaster is going to make it age well. im just hoping it doesnt turn out to be another arrow type coaster in its 3rd or 4th year would love to hear others opinions

I thought a mechanical engineer would see the importance of all of the rigid triangles in the track structure and see that the track isn't going to warp.

An interesting thing about the spiral... the train seems to turn around an axis that centers on what I assume would be its center of gravity, end to end. In other words, when it goes up the spiral, it isn't pulling the track in any particular direction, it is only being guided by the track. From that standpoint, I don't think that the track is enduring any extreme stress.

As far as being smooth, the Intamin wheel assemblies by nature are going to keep the wheels hugging the track, so I don't see why it would ever get rough.

thanks i have never seen SUE so that helps me out alot. but what i was saying is that the constant stresses on the rear spike when the breaks are applied will force the rear spike in a negative direction from the ride. after thousands of rides I feel this will cause the ride to become weaker and will alow the ride to flex even more. not sure but this ride intrests me because it is a structural inovation

well im not sure about that but only time will tell right this was the first year for SUE and since arrow coasters were good there first year lets see what happens in the next few years with SUE

well after looking at the structure i do not belive that it will age well. i cant see this coaster having a long lifespan..
