I've been in "negotiations" with my sister-in-law. When my neice is old enough (she's 2 1/2 now), I want my wife and I to take her to Dutch Wonderland in Lancaster PA... I need some excuse to go there and ride "Sky Princess". I know, I know, its only a Jr. and not the most thrilling Jr. at that... but hey, its a wooden coaster and its only 40 minutes from our house!

Who knows though... Sky Princess may be a bit "tame" for her. Two weeks ago her mother and her went along with me and my wife to a hockey game at Hershey. When we passed Lightning Racer my wife pointed and said about riding the roller coaster and put her hands in the air. We then passed Wildcat on the way into the parking lot and our niece pointed to it and said, "another roller coaster" and put her hands up above her head in her car seat! I always said she was brilliant!!!

The best ride to start little ones out on is the Double loop at Geuga Lake(I dont care) Its has everything that they would be afraid of in a steel coaster, then after that ghet them started right away on SUE so they wont be scared of that and then run over to The Villian(Best ride in the park IMO) so they will learn to lovfe CCI, and lets not forget the big dipper(Almost fell out last year on third drop.)

Scooby Doo's Ghoster Coaster at Carowinds

My first coaster was the Hunt's Pier Flyer, it was thrilling enough to scare the crap out of me when I was 11 but fun enough to make me ride all night. Since its gone, I would think that its twin, the Sea Dragon at Wyandot Lake, or any of the Paramount junior woodies would be perfect rides. Someone mentioned the Sky Princess, that's a good choice as well.

This beats them all, Thunderhawk @ Dorney Park, because its wild, but not to the point where any kid would die of a heart attack.

SFNE's Thunderbolt woodie is the perfect starter coaster. It's a nice little figure-8 with some great drops and two awesome bunny hops on the final stretch. I enjoy the ride even now, but it was among my first coasters.

I would have to say the Runaway Train at SFGA (now called the Mine Train).

Magnum XL-200. It was my first big coaster. I still have my on-ride photo. I can't wait to take my son/daughter on it eventualy when I get married and have kids and stuff...lol.

Kennywood's Racer is also a good starting coaster,actually Kennywood itself is a good starter park.

Certainly the Scooby Doo's, Beastie's and Ghoster Coaster types are great for the little one's. Most mentioned here are very good starter coasters. My nephew is five and has several Galaxi's under his belt along with the Sky Princess and HersheyPark's Comet. I hope he can handle the Rebel Yell this summer.

PKI has a wide collection of coaster for little buzzers. There is Topcat`s Taxi Jam for the really little ones. There is also the Beastie, a fun ride for everyone. Once youngsters have tamed Scooby`s Ghoster Coaster they can then challenge Rugrats Runaway Reptar before moving onto Top Gun and Face Off!

I started on beast and kumba. I rode other coasters but those are what i would call my first true coaster. I had rode some other medium size coasters but as soon as I was tall enough at five or six my brother started me in on my coaster cravings.

I got started on the wizzer at SFGA and it ruled. I don't think it would now, but it is an awesome coaster to start on.

I started my 7 year old out on the Racers @ PKI. She loved it! I can't wait to get her on The Beast this year.
I started my 2 1/2 year old out on the Log Flume to get her used to a drop. Then went to The Beastie. She loves the Flume ride, but isn't crazy about the Beastie. I'm sure she will come around this year.

Any small Arrow loop n' screw such as the Steamin' Demon at Great Escape. It was my first coaster when I was 5, and it's not that big or fast, perfect for the little ones.
