Paramount's Carowinds

My hometown park is Carowinds. I really love this park. They may not have the biggest or best rollercoasters. The ones that they have are really great. I would not give up Carowinds for nothing. I just wanted to get some thoughts from other people on what they think about Carowinds.

Being from Cincinnati and having a season pass to PKI, I`ve never been to Paramont`s Carowinds, although I could get in free. Just be glad that you have a B&M. PKI doesn`t have one yet. There is always next year!

Does Carowinds have that Top Gun ride from B&M. That looks like a crazy coaster and i would love to ride it.

Seriously, Carowinds is the MOST underrated PARK ever! I mean, I was surprised that someone actually posted this :)

I just got email from Susan Lomax confirming that Carowinds *IS* expanding Thrill Zone.. but what is going to be there is yet to be revealed!

Lemme guess - ANOTHER B&M! :)

Coastersrz: Just find a way to get on I-77 in Ohio and drive from there straight to Carowinds :)

Yes, The Jet Coaster, you are correct. Next year Carowinds will b getting their first HYPER next year. Many other modifications will be done. Rapids Ride will be removed and thrill rides added.

Coastermike you heard that rumor at thrillride I believe. I am a Carowinds freak as well (ill be going this weekend actually). I cannot see Rip Roaring Rapids being torn down as it is one of the park's most popular attraction and they built a new cave at the end for this year. As for the hyper, yes it appears to be a fact. If it doesn't come for 2002 it will come for 2003.

Umm.. with this email from the V.P. of Paramount Parks:

Our 2002 plan for the park includes an expansion of the Thrill Zone area.
We are still finalizing the details of this plan and the product selection.
I will pass along new information when it is available.

I *AM* pretty positive the coaster is for 2002. God, may it be a B&M like Nitro!

Hey CoasterMike, Carowinds is also my homepark as well! I think it is a great theme park! Very undderated like Jet Coaster said. my friends and I practically live at Carowinds during the summer...LOL.
Also I wanted to make a comment on the Hyper rumor. I went to Carowinds on Saturday, and when I rode the Skytower I looked over towards Drop Zone and Hurler, I saw a HUGE cleared area of land, anyone else seen it? I'm thinking this is the spot for the coaster if the rumor is true.
What does everyone else think?

Hey Adam T., I absolutely love Carowinds. I agree with you on that. The piece of land that is being cleared behine Drop Zone and The Hurler will be used for buildings and such. If everything goes as planned, like I heard from the park, Rip Roarin Rapids is being removed and the new HYPER will be placed there. Please don't ask why they will/are removing that ride? I think it is one of the more popular water rides in the park. As we all stay in touch and get new info. we can keep each other up to date.
