The last that I had heard was that someone from Nebraska was interested in the park.
what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
Driving by a few weeks ago it appears he has now taken half of the parking lot for his camper sales though, where it used to be a small plot off to the left of the parking lot.
I had asked a few weeks ago, and nothing new was mentioned then either.
6 Million will get you a amusment park.
Chuck, whos only news of LL is no news as of now but there are parties interested.
The thing I can NOT understand is this: How is letting the *investment* sit there idle, and depreciating, HOW is that going to be better for Mr. Couch than "getting what he can for it" right now?
Seems to me it's more like having a vintage car on blocks, NOT like having a bottle of fine wine aging in your cellar.
Chuck is the authority to me on LL, and maybe he can remember for sure, but didn't Couch want to also make a coaster walk of fame. I seem to remember him wanting to collect signs and other memorabilia from past coasters and make a site in the park for this walk. I also remember camping and fishing on property being mentioned.
To me, I really believe he got in over his head. Not realizing completely how big an undertaking LL would be for him. All I know is I want to see that park open again. I spent so much of my childhood there, and it sucks to see it rotting away.
Couch should just take the best offer possible as he's not going to get all his money back. He should be glad someone has interest in the property instead of having it sit idle all this time.
X Factor
Beleive me when I say that 2002 was the best this coaster ever ran.
Couch bought the property for two purposes, Camper Sales was one, Thats still going on, But no news on any pending operators or sales. Just that some have been and are interested.
Chuck, who honestly thinks that unless he gets his price, He's not willing to give up say so in it's operations or ownership.
I do remember '02 Chuck, and you are right, it was running great during that season.
