New Moser flat ride -- a copy/paste of Huss TopSpin?

As most of you have been made aware, Adventureland (Iowa) will be receiving the newest version of Moser's Maverick flat ride. Yesterday I received photos from inside the park of the new ride and it might just be me, but this sure looks like they took the Huss TopSpin ride and copy/pasted it. What do you guys think?

Just based on seating, it looks more like HALF of a Mondial Splashover....to me, they're all basically the same, just different seating...

The Italians don't seem to have the word patent in their dictionaries. Anyway, it's a shame they're not getting the Maverick with the split arms. It looks pretty good from the video. It should be interesting to see if anyone buys Moser's new standup Maverick prototype.

I don't think anything they are making can match the ferocity of a Top Spin on a good program. I've seen the programs that the Moser rides run and they are generally much weaker than the good top spins. If only we could get some of those sick manual run Top Spins like Germany has over here in the US... then people would see what these babies can do.

10-12 consecutive flips ending with a nice hang upside down while being doused by the water jets. Now THAT'S a ride! None of this 2-3 flip crap... I want the ride to show me who's boss.

I've even seen a video where the german fair operator is flipping the people continuously and just laughing at them through the intercom. It's great!

If they just put a TopSpin in Coney, you'd find out what it could do! ;) :)

I was just checking out your Feb update on Adventureland.

Those flume parts have been sitting between the Tornado and the maintenance shed for several years.

AV - I know, it was a slow new/update week and I happened to be by the park for business (read I had to make a Wal-Mart run while I was in Des Moines). :)

It looks a little bit like a HUSS Top Spin. But let's wait until this ride is ready.

Gator - Coney Island (Brooklyn) does have some form of a Topspin. It's in Astroland and it has a very long and sick program. I am not sure if it is manually operated or not, but my dad and I were eating some Nathan's hot dogs last summer by the Cyclone. We counted over thirty flips from our vantage point in the car.

I don't think I can handle it, but it looks like a tough thrill ride.

THis summer, I might try the one at Great ADventure to see how I fare on it. It only is programmed for one or two flips and one head hang. If I can do it, then I'll work my way up to the one in Rye Playland.

...nothing approaches the bliss that is the Soriani and Moser Super-Loop-On-Top. They'd make Six Flags move their Top Spins to Bugs Bunny World.

I thought the Moser Maverick at Rye Playland had an excellent program. I'd say it ran better than all the topspins I've seen except for the one at Astroland.

Thanks Richie...don't remember it there on my last trip to Coney. Shoulda left more time for a return to Coney last August, as well as for my *creho trip* to Rye, but I needed to get to Maine and NH and SFGE too, so I was decidedly short on time....and NOTHING beats another credit lap on a Volare... ;)

I've only ridden three top spins, the best being PKD's Firefall. I thought it had an okay program for being at a big chain park.

I would absolutely LOVE to ride one with an intense program. I'm all about the spin-n-puke rides. Sign me up!

This so called new ride is why even though I have lived in Des Moines my entire life. I have not been to A-Land since 1997. A-land is the lamest park in the entire Midwest if not the U.S. Until this park gets rid of the Horrible Dragon coaster and replaces it with a decent looper and puts in a good Hyper, I will not be attending.

Of the two Iowa parks, I would say that AL is the better one as far as rides go. I wouldn't call it lame, the collection of flat rides this park is really pretty good. Outlaw and Tornado are excellent coasters. I realize that Dragon is not a very good coaster, but that is besides the point. Also where else can you ride THROUGH trees on a skyride? I mean literally ride THROUGH them. :) It's not a bad park, but it could use a new coaster.
