Goliath Overpowers!

Goliath (SFOG) looks like a spectacular ride, but I can't stand its location! Georgia Scorcher is such a beautiful ride, and its going to be ruined by the way Goliath overpowers it. Georgia Scorcer, to me, is the entrance of the park. It's like the first thing you see, and it looks great right at the front! But now, Goliath will overpower this beautiful stand-up, and I will be sad...:(

Does anyone else feel the same way I do?

I think that is the point. GOLIATH, as a name, evokes overpowerment.

Just look at it this way, Scortcher may be smaller, but who won the famouse biblical battle, the smaller dude, or Goliath? ;)

As long as I get a good view of Myndbender, everything is good. :)

SFoG is so well-located near the airport/interstates, Goliath is going to be one ENORMOUS advertisement for the park...kinda like DBH, only people will actually be RIDING Goliath... ;)

I tend to believe that the placement of the ride is nothing short of perfect. Everyone was expecting them to just plop the ride down in the remainder of their open land....somewhere down by S:UF and Scream Machine.

Over Georgia has delivered a layout that utlilizes the terrain of the park to its advantage, goes over midways and other rides, and generally presents itself quite nicely as guests are entering. If you ask me, it fits the description of exactly the kind of location an enthusiast would want a ride of its kind to be placed.

I think Goliath is going to be a great addition to the park, and even its location will enhance the total ride experience.

And how may coasters can you drive under while going into the park?

And to me, the Lickskillet is the entrance of the park but that's changed and I've gotten over it.

But Goliath? Sure, Scorcher looked nice for welcoming and intimidating guests on the way in, but what's more intimidating than a 175 foot drop looming overhead? Screaming riders flying by at 70 mph? I think this is even better and like Tekno said, it just lives up to its name :)

Having the ride overlap other coasters, attractions, walkways, roadways, etc makes the layout much more interesting than just sticking on an open edge of the park. I wish more coasters were "interactive" with their surroundings. No need to spread everything out. Stack `em up and save the outward space for future growth.

Sounds like a excuse to whine to me :)

You don't drive under Ghostrider when entering the park. Ghostrider crosses a thru city street.

We always park at that little lot to the right as you come in to SFOG, so I still won't be driving under a coaster to get to the park.

Leaving, yes. Getting there, no. :)

Exit the Washington St. access road and you will be going right under American Eagle at SFGAm. And that has been done since 1981. :)

Silverstar was built specifically so you would drive under the first drop when you enter the park's praking lot.

How about other famous parking lot coasters...
Scream?

Magnum (sort of).

At no point do you drive under Scream. And Scream is no longer in the parking lot...that portion of the lot was annexed as a part of the park.

Why settle for driving? Go to Indiana Beach and park under the Hoosier Hurricane.
