Tightest Loops

Which roller coaster has the smallest loops? I think Windjammer, with a drop of 60ft the loop has to be small.

Scorpion at BGT looks like it has a rather small loop. I'm not sure of the exact height though...

Windjammers loops are pretty small, and looks strangely circular to me. They sort of remind me of revolution's loop. But yes the loop is really small...

There is a looping wild mouse in Japan. I am sure the loop(s?) must be really small on that ride.

The smallest loop is probably the second loop on Texas Tornado at SFAW. It's probably small! __Oo__

Coasters- a little slice of heaven

The portable,Russian built,looper owned by Ray Cammack Shows. Don't remember the specs, but it is TIGHT!

Actually, the loop is one of the better parts of the ride (of only two including the drop). The rest of the ride is all about the headbanging.

There is a coaster in Oregon at Oak's Amusment Park and it's called Looping Thunder and the drop is only around 40 feet so the loop is REALLY tight!

Dutchman and hunter11, you're both talking about the same ride. Well, not the same ride, but the same model...the Pinfari ZL-42 Looping Star. That's my nominee as well; I think I read someplace that the loop is 28' in diameter. By comparison, the loop on Son of Beast is 118'. :)

At Drayton Manor in England there is a small Pinfari looping coaster and the drop can only be 30 feet! the loop look's about 15 feet. When I first saw it i thought it was impossible!

Uhm, well 108' or 118' feet, Son of Beast is defnitely ruled out here.

I rode that Pinfari Looping Star that RCS owned, that sucker was TIGHT. I haven't ever seen a smaller loop.

I think the tightest loops were on the old flip-flap coasters at Coney Island and Atalantic City around the turn of the century. I read somewhere that the riders expieriernced 12 g's through the loops and air force pilots can only sustain 11g's before passing out. How's that for intensity?

RideMan,the Cammack coaster was built in Russia by PAX and has been in use here for about two seasons , as I recall. It'll hopefully be at Del Mar again this June.

I think the 4th loop on Texas Tornado at SFAW is around 30-40 ft high!

Scorpion has a really small loop and so does manhatten express for the speed it is going. Most arrow loopers have tight loops too.

Oh! Cammack bought a Pax looper?! I'm sorry to hear that. :) The first Pinfari ZL-42 I rode was Cammack's; I figured you were talking about that one. Didn't know about a Pax! I didn't think we had any of those in the US!

Yeah, it's a PAX. Apparently it is one of the first,if not the first one of it's kind in the U.S. I remember reading about in AB. It' when they started the push to start marketing their products to the Western market. It had to be redesigned to meet ASTM standards. After it was delivered to Ray Cammack Shows Guy Leavitt had to re rack everything to cut down on the number of trailers it took to move it. I don't recall what he paid for it, but it had to be a relative bargain. I haven't heard if they have sold any others,either here or in Canada.
