Ahhh to go to Magic Springs...

Nice to see the park expanding but I wish they would have gone for the expanded model. This is a best-case capacity of 500 people per hour but I'd be willing to bet it is MUCH fewer than that.

So this is a shuttle coaster, then? Am I reading this right?

Nope...its a full-circuit coaster. The single 2-car trains goes up the lift, thru the inversion, returns to and thru the station, rolls back and forth up the "spikes", then does it all over again.

Anyway, looking at the proto it's mighty generous to not call it a shuttle. It's just a step up from "Ring of Fire" or whatever that looping ride at every carnival is called.

*nods* Agreed PT300 The one in spain pushes the concept further which I like. I dont know about you guys, but I need a ride with substance. These one-trick wonders don't do it for me. (I've never ridden one of these X-car-coasters though so I can't speak for ride experience) But that one in spain looks far more interesting and substantial of a ride experience than the one Arkansas is getting.

I think they could have spent that 4 mil on something much better. I'm not too up-to-date on wooden coaster prices these days, but can't you still get a good-sized wooden coaster for about that price?

The only problem I can forsee is that since it does have a lift, obviously, that means it can stop anywhere up that incline... including that near inverted part of the track. Just seems to have bad news written all over. I wish Hot Springs the best of luck.

Why is that bad news?

The capacity on this ride, at this park, probably will not be too much of a problem - except maybe a couple days a year. We went to Magic Springs the last week in July this year, on a Sunday, and had a really good time....no lines for anything....except for the few slides in the waterpark.

There are a few things we (family and friends) thought that the park needed to make it a "must do" every season: a river rapids ride and more slides in the water park. We thought that the coaster lineup was decent considering you have a fun woody, the SLC, mine coaster, mouse, and kiddy coaster.

I know the park wanted more attractions that are "billboards" to people driving by - I guess this will fill that need as well as be the new "record breaking" attraction.

The topography of the park is perfect for an absolute crazy terrain woody - so maybe one day, hopefully soon.

Would you like to on that car when the ride breaks down with the car at the top arch of the lift? I'd imagine it would become quite painful after just a minute or so.

The park has a great set of coasters. Yes this is going to be ground breaking for Maurer Söhne X-Car-Coaster's in America, but come on, did it have to be a clone. Well I guess you could think of it as atleast we got one.

And It isn't supposed to be painful if you are in any possition in Maurer Söhne X-Cars. They have a state of the art design were you can be in any position and not experience any pain.

I just don't see this coaster justifying a trip down to the land of Wal-mart Home Office. I still say they should have built a GCII.
