Help! Im going to Toronto, Canada ...

Theres a possibility that I maybe travelling to Toronto this year. Can anyone give me the lowdown on Parks and rides within a half-days travel?

Marineland near Niagra Falls has the Dragon Muntain coaster. This coaster is really bizarre and there is no wait. You enter through a giant dragon mouth. Also, the have a killer whale and some other attractions.

Also Paramount's Canada Wonderland is near there. They have a version of the grizzly and other rides. I've never been to Wonderland so I can;t tell you that much,

There is PCWo and ML in Canada. If you willing to travel about 3hrs to Buffalo, there's Darien Lake, Seabreeze, and Martin's Fantasy Island as well. However, those are each 1/2 day to full day parks.

Wonderland is a nice park, you,ll enjoy yourself..

PCW is the best park around. It's got 12 rollercoasters including an awesome suspended coaster and an alright SLC. IMO the best ride there is the Woodie, the Mighty Canadian Minebuster. It's a nice single out and back with tunnels and a helix.

As far as other parks, there is Marineland which sucks execpt for the huge dragon coaster which they have. (Which is really good)

Ontario place is located in toronto, but it contains no rollercoasters. It has simulators, a log flume, and water slides.

The CNE (Canadian National Exhibition) is also located in toronto, which contains a vast midway of classic rides, shows, international showplace, freakshows etc. It contains two rollercoasters. Unfortunately, It is only open in August.

PCW (just north of the city, half hour from downtown) is definitely worth a visit - I'm not a huge fan of some Paramount parks, but this one worked for me. It can get VERY crowded on the weekends, so keep that in mind. Of the rides, the two woodies - Minebuster and WildeBeast - are my favourite (note Canadian spelling).

SFDL is also a must do every year for us, as their Superman coaster is, simply put, awesome (I prefer it to Millennium Force) and the best night ride I've ever had. Depending on traffic (insane at rush hour) you can get to SFDL from downtown T.O. (local slang for Toronto) in just over two hours. Once you're plans are set I would be happy to help with more details - i.e. directions, driving/transit times from hotels, etc., if needed.

Is the rate bad? That's a switch - the Canadian dollar is nearly at a record low against the U.S. as well, so all out coaster trips (i.e. next week to Virginia) are that much more expensive ... not that it will stop us.

Right now $100 New Zealand is buying $65 Canadian and $41 American. Whats American costing you in Canada?

Let's see .. I just paid $319 CAN for $200 US - so the rate is almost 1.6:1. Not good.
