I think it'd be nice if CP followed SF and implimented an electronic pay-to-play system.

Call me crazy.

OK, you're hot. Oops, I mean crazy! ;) Now about that 3-bencher....

There has to be some sort of limited number per day... the park can not have an infinite number of qbots.

However...

Logic would have it that more people would be picking up the freebies as opposed to paying a price for a qbot.

Also...

Just because all of the qbots may be given out early in the day, it doesn't mean that is it for the day. As Gonchar said, as people leave, they turn in their bots. I don't think anyone would turn in unused "freeway" passes. *** Edited 8/16/2005 8:12:15 PM UTC by SLFAKE***

Disney's system, while far from perfect, is the best I've experienced. It is available to all guests and not only those who can afford to take advantage of it.

Disney has a LOT of "cast members"....never seen ANY park in any other chain staff rides that way....DOES make things go infinitely smoother though in terms of queueing, filling up trains, etc...

It's one of the GOOD things about Disney that just makes them different...and for them, *everything* is different...

Um, who cares about Freeway? You never paid for it so why worry? ;-)

The Q-Bot thing worked well during my last visit at Great Adventure, but like Bill said you run a chance of getting "mixed in" with all the other "lines". It worked well for Di and I but we were lucky. :-)

UUGGH...Why do you people like systems that clog and stall lines? It hinders the overall capacity of the rides in a park. It clogs and stalls lines by letting people wait in 2 or more ride lines at a time. It frustrates and angers guests who are not using the system.

And now I hear that Q-bots are not as limited as I always assumed they would be? What if every guest in the park was waiting in 2 or more lines at a time? That would be a nightmare.

Please CP, don't give the makers of Q-bot a chance to segregate your valued guests. It's like the rich get richer by stealing from the poor...People who can afford a bot will take away rides from people who can't.

Kudos to Hersheypark for not giving in to the "pay-to-cut" hype, so far.

We have talked this to death...this is how I feel.

The key phrase with Hersheypark and not giving in to "pay-to-cut" is "so-far".

Sometime last season there was a story on a local radio station (WHP580 our of Harrisburg) about Hershey and the practice of "pay-to-cut". The spokesperson said that at the time being, the park does not do this, and there are no plans in the imediate future to do this.

I found it odd that this story was on the air out of the clear blue, and I wondered if it was some sort of test balloon Hershey was floating to see what the reaction would be.

Before a wide scale "fast past / qbot" system, I would not be surprised if we may see a system where guests at Hotel Hershey or Hershey Lodge and Convention Center (or what ever hotels are owned by HERCO or have deals with the park) would get some sort of "front line access" very similar to the way they have things set up at Universal in Florida (at least the way they used to... not sure if they are still using that system).

Not sure about Q-bot but I know that the Fastlane passes at SFGAm are limited in quantity.

I don't know if it is intentional, but on busy days SF runs out of Q-Bots.

I'm sure it's not intentional since Running out of Qbots = No additional Qbot revenue.

I thought freeway was a great idea. It didn't even make the line that longer for standby, and it let every get a chance to have a hsorter line at least one time throughout the day. I'm very dissappointed that it's gone. Sure it's not as technologically advanced as Fastpass @ Disney but it worked.

Kind of off the topic, but thought I'd throw it in here - did you see on the CP website that the senior ticket is back? And junior tickets are now $9.95! There's other stuff too, like a super discounted web ticket and a buy one-get one starlight ticket.

I guess they're trying to boost their end-of-season attendance? These are pretty drastic moves if you ask me. And who are these new Tony and Tyler guys? I guess it's a new marketing campaign?

Anyway, just thought you'd be interested to know!

Never really used Freeway but once or twice, it was quite helpful for getting in a second ride on Millennium Force last year but I won't really miss it.

Not hearing their reasoning for discontinued use of Freeway Pass. I thought they were taking a break to evaluate how effective it is. It would be a shame if it discontinued. I felt it was a quite fair and effective system. It would be a shame if they decided to install a Q-Bot system, a distinction from Six Flags they should be proud of.
