I thought X had the longest breakdown in first year?

Not that it matters, though. Regardless, I have actually seen said Kinda Ka commercials, and they did pull them after the breakdown, though they've been showing Golden Kingdom Commercials. Watching the NYC news you'll see one along with a Dorney commercial every commercial break.

Then I watch the L.A. news and all I see is Knott's and SFMM/Hurricane Harbour.

Gosh, I hate living in WV.

Well the New Jersey peeps could have it worse. They ran Camden Park commercials showing the Thunderbolt Express running YEARS after it became SBNO. ;-)

Tek, I don't think the delayed opening can be counted as a breakdown. It never opened until Christmastime in 2001.

Ka opened and had riders, then had serious issues...

I ment when they closed it for a long time and premier (or someone) did something to the trains, and Premier(or someone) wanted to actually cut off rails and such because the trains were causing stress.

But ya, it had a delayed opening too!

Yeah but wasn't TTD down for at least a month last year after a tire fell off the rear of the train or am I confused, again?

A day at the park is what you make it!

Did we forget Superman: The Escape? That was delayed an entire year.

Welcome back, red train, how was your ride?!

But wasn't S:TE the longest-delayed non-coaster thrill ride? :)

Don't forget the big Premiers - the Mr. Freezes and Batman and Robin: The Chiller.

That was the 2003 season and I don't think it was for an entire month. Dragster was down for weeks for several reasons during its inaugural season; hydraulics, train modifications, and the coolant system to name three. And, of course, last year's incident with the metal shavings also prompted a lengthy closure.

The ride was closed a maximum of 15 days in 2003. Last years incident closed the ride for believe it or not only 5 days. Dragster has been running well since May.

Dragster did have quite a bit of downtime in 2003, even if it wasn't all consecutive.

There's a reason that Super Himalaya, right across the midway, had more riders in 2003 than Dragster did.

I nominate Deja Vu at SFGam in the longest downtime department. Its inaugural year it opened on Oct. 15, just two weeks before the end of the season, during fright fest. Then it was down for a day during the next weekend, and open for the entire final weekend. So it was open for a grand total of 6 days that season.

In 2002, it was down the first month of the season, and in 2003, it was down for the first 3 months of the season! (Opened at beginning of August).

Could this garner an award for worst three season-span? KK has a long way to go to top SFGAm's all-time lawn ornament king.

The park played commercials for KK at least a week after it closed...perhaps seeing commercials isn't a good barometer for when the ride will open? ;)

Just felt the need to correct some mis-information.

First of all, Deja Vu opened at around 2:00 on Sunday October 7th, 2001. In 2002, it was open opening day but broke the next morning and was down until June. It was down again at the end of August.

In 2003, it opened at 1:00 on July 26th.
