PKI/Coney Island

After reading the history of Coney Island I am a little puzzled. Are they both owned by the same company?

They were owned by the same company. In the early 1970's a group of investors bought coney island and wanted to expand. They decided on Kings Island. A few years later they sold Kings Island to Kings entertainment co. They owned television and radio stations araound the u.s. In 1992 the park was then sold to Paramount and thus paramount's Kings Island. coney island in the meantime was sold off after Kings island opened and has been through quite a few owners since

Coney was bought by Cincinnati`s taft broadcasting which immediatly made plans to build kings Island. The owners moved several rides that were at Coney to Kings island, like the carousel, scrambler, monster, flying eagles and the now beautifully restored Wold thornberrys river Adventure. Then taft sold 80% of Kings Island to the kings entertainment group. Both Taft and KEC were then bought by Carl Lindner who now owns the Cincinnati reds. Carl then sold Kings Island to Paramount Parks in the fall of 1992 for around $200 million

Carl should've kept the park. Let the team play in it! wouldn't that be a way to make $$ :)

So Carl Linder was the guy who sold PKI off to Paramount. For some reason I suddenly hate Linder a little more.

He didn`t directly own Kings Island but he owned Kings entertainment group which owned Kings Island and Kings Dominion. He then sold KEC to Paramount Parks.

Yeah Paramount owning it is good and bad at the same time.
On one hand, you get awesome new rides, often with huge budgets. On the other, you get crappy 'movie themed' rides.
