If I had to guess, I'd say Twister probably cost them close to 6m. 4 if they used their own lumber.

I don't count the small parks out of the under 10m market anymore. Some have been able to find ways to do it. Being used, Already built but not delivered and available at a discount ect.

I don't see Knoebels being a risk taker though so that rules out mortgaging everything to do something off the hook, However their decisions basically have been smart ones and ones that compliment their park and needs and not YOURS :)

Knoebels IMHO isn't in competition with anyone even though Hershey, Dorney and several other parks are not far away. Keeping the park affordable, Enjoyable and most of all Fun to visit is their ONLY concern.

A Rock-n-Roll would be the coolest! More vintage rides.... maybe a dormant Tumble Bug brought back to life???????

I thought Twister only cost the park $2,000,000. I don't think it was 6, 2 is what I heard it cost...

Your both wrong with Twisters price. It was right around 3 million. They saved money by doing everything in house with the design and construction.

As for a Tumble Bug, Dick already said he would never get one of them. They take up too much room compared to other rides.

Oops... I was meaning to quote RideMan regarding the Jet Star (even though Peabody makes a good point too)!

Some day I will ride a Tumble Bug, even if I have to buy it myself. Who needs a house and car anyway?

Adam, BonBon & Bobbejaanland have listed the price at around that price. Typhoon is on RCDB as 5mill Euro, I just did a price conversion, and I know I read somewhere when Vild-Svinet debuted that it was between 5-6 mill U.S.

Is that wrong on both counts?

Vild-Svinet was maybe 5 installed, but not for the ride unit. The Bobbejaanland price is about right. Gerstlauer has Euro-Fighters that range cost less than a Vekoma boomer, like the 320 and 470 models, so they can range quite a bit to fit a lot of park's budgets.

Anything would be great, especially something steel. They don't need another woodie. Do you guys ever go on that High Speed Thrill coaster there? The kiddie one? You can get a lot of airtime off of that thing. How's Fandango? How high does it go and do you face outward or inward?

I don't agree that Knoebels wouldn't benefit from another wood coaster but I do think that a new steel coaster is needed. Nothing big and loopy (nearby Hershey and Dorney have plenty of those)- a Gerstlauer spinning coaster or a classic Schwarzakopf would do nicely!

No, Knoebels doesn't NEED another wooden coaster, but the two they have are top class and I have no doubt a third would round out their collection nicely. ;) I'd love to see a Schwarzkopf looper there, but not necessarily a shuttle looper.

I think Flamingoland's Bullet is a possibility. I am STILL, after 2 years, praying for a mountain woodie :). Maybe one day I will be rewarded, but I would love to have Bullet, or a Gerstlauer spinner, or an in-house wooden wild mouse.
