Did I read that they are running the ride with the lights on this year? Can anyone confirm this?

Yes they are.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Why? This ride is great in the dark!

That seems rejected, unless there is a logical reason for keeping lights on, I always liked it better dark, that was the point of the ride, for it to be dark.

Why are they doing it? Waste of power and the ride is awesome in the dark.

Thanks,

I've been to the park twice this year and the lights have not been on either time. I know the trun on the lights for ERT during Coastermania though, maybe that is where you seen it?

I think the ride ran with the lights on until 1990.

Yeah, it did, Rob. They were a little brighter back then, though.

Yea, but only during the hours of 10 am till 8pm. Then they turned them off.

You know, for a mediocre ride it sure does get a lot of attention... ;)

But oh what a fun mediocre ride it was. But, then, what do you know? You live in Vegas ;).

It is not a terrible ride, it is okay. I still liked it better though when it was outside.

The ride is still pitch dark, except when I rode it on May 9th, someone left the garage door cracked open in the one room. Found it rather amusing when you could see light for a few seconds.

I don't think it's mediocre... I like it better than Corkscrew and Magnum!

Heh. It is a good time, I would rather ride it in pitch dark though, no lights on in the scenes.

It's unique - Cedar Point used to be full of unique rides and unfortunately there's very few left.

The problem I have is riding it in the dark kind of defeats the purpose of the bobsled track. Part of the thrill was realizing that you weren't really locked to the track and it was a little unnerving (at least for me when I was a little kid) to take a turn and wonder if it would fly over the edge. You don't get that feeling in the dark.

I last rode on Saturday. Except for the lights on the lift hill and the 'starfield' at the top, it's dark.

I disagree. DT is a good dark ride, but a mediocre coaster at best. And the capacity is abysmal compared to Corkscrew and Magnum. If you want a dark-ride thrill, ride Magnum blindfolded.

I'd like to see what I hit my hand on a couple weeks ago. When we were there, I did my usual "oh no, I'm losing control" and as it did the drop, my hand clipped the ceiling or something. I just had my hands up, I was kinda suprised by the lack of clearance.
Thankfully, it just kinda suprised me more than anything.
