I have a question

i have a question. i went by geauga lake today and they still have like a wave pool and a complex of water slides still standing by the big dipper area. Are those staying there this year, or are they gonna move them too. Also will the slides be part of the new complex with the wild water kingdom. Cuase it just seems that would make logical sense becuase erverything else is across the lake now.

Yes, they'll be in that location near Big Dipper this year. Phase 2 of the waterpark expansion happens in the upcoming off-season andin 2006 the entire waterpark will be on the old Sea World side. If you CoasterBuzz News you can find the announcement from last year.

but on the contrary to putting a coaster there it seems to small in that area

Are you trying to say that the area that is currently occupied by the wavepool and slides is not large enough to accomodate a rollercoaster of any substantial size?

There is a lot of room there, if they fit an entire waterpark there they could fit a coaster if thats the plan. Who knows what the plan for that area will be.

Yes, as said before, room is plentiful in that area for a coaster of small to medium size. And what a great location, next to the road (even though we enjoy our terrain vehicles/ SUVs).

I am excited to see that area emptied out after the slides move next year to see how much room is really there. I think it will be a lot, but looks can be deceiving.

I actually envisioned a new midway theme through there, that I actually drew out on paper, then later designed one on my comp. I call it the Xtreme Future Midway.

This is not any kind of plan that GL came up with, just my own creation. The midway would feature a futuristic themed coaster, futuristic themed flat rides, and futuristic themed games and etc. Just a creation of mine.

By the way, there is plenty of room for a coaster there, and remember, it doesn't have to be confined to just that area. it can run out and around the 50's midway if it wanted to.

(lol), lakecrystal. I used to do the same thing. I completely redisigned Camden Park when i was 12 or so. I was 5 years old when I designed my first amusement park, and I kept at it until I was in my late teens/early 20s.

Then RCT came out.

I swear I had the idea for that game WAY before even Sim Park or whatever it was called came out. I was playing Sim City and said to myself, "What if they made a game like this except it was an amusement park?" :)

I'm just curious what a "future land" includes in this day and age? We've already seen and surpassed a lot of what is usually thought of as "future land" theme.

I think it'd be a much better and unique idea to theme that area to the future, but from the perspective of the 50s community that's next to it. Have things like "the next great innovation: color TV", "things that will never happen: robots", "what you'll be doing in the year 2000: teleporting", etc. Funny, corny and probably pretty cheap to do, relatively speaking.

Thats actually a great idea, Brett. Themeing a section to a 50's Sci-Fi movie. Kinda like Tomorrow Land, but different. It would be even better if everything was painted black and white and gray...

as far as that theme is concerned, it would be cool but i don't believe it will happen basing it on the fact that cedar fair tends not to go all out on the whole theming thing. There is plenty of room in that area to put a roller coaster. Who knows, maybe by 2007 geuga lake may have the longely anticipated hyper-coaster.

On that note, i have another question. Try to visualize an aerial view of geuga lake. Does GL own all of the land completely surrounding the lake or not. Because that one area next to the road in between the old waterpark and the new waterpark is quite small but has a small dock on it and a few picnic tables and that is about it.
