Best Show at a park

When visiting non-home parks, I have a hard time stopping to watch shows because I want to ride ride ride.
Still, I did stop and see the outdoor show at Festa Italia in BGW last summer. I was glad I did. A couple of relatively inexpensive beers, good food and a pretty good show.
Cedar Point's shows, which I've seen more of than any other parks', are somewhat hit and miss depending on that year's talent and how they're grouped. For example, last year's country show had one of the best fiddlers in the world. I hate country, but this guy was amazing (hoochies in short leather skirts don't hurt either). The Big 80's was also very good.

I agree, Jeff, I'd rather be riding the rides. :) I always try to hit laser/light/fireworks shows because I love the pyrotechnics, and I think that CP's best show is usually the one in the Centennial Theater, so I try no to miss that one. With any other parks I visit, it's really if the brochure sounds interesting and if I have the time, I might see if I wind up around the show around the time it's on. Not exactly a sure thing. On average, I'd have to admit that I do try to go to shows at Disney parks, because they're usually pretty nice, and Disney parks don't typically have so many rides (I've only been to the ones in FL, so I don't know about CA).

I don't know if they still do this, but Great America used to have a clown band that would pop up in various locations throughout the day. I like live music and usually don't attend shows due to my focus on rides. These guys were good and I didn't have to wait in a line to see them.

FANTASMIC! It's *the* best show ever if anyone loves Disney. Excellent! All of Disney's shows are superb and I haven't been disappointed yet. Unless you want to count the horrific rehab in 2000 on the Imagination ride/show. Blah! At least they have Honey I Shrunk the Audience right next door. Space is a bad thing to waste.

Agree totally about Fantasmic. Wow, I've never seen anything quite like it.
However, the best time I ever had at a show was also Disney, but not really a park.
The Adventurer's Club at Pleasure Island has got to be one of the strangest live shows I've seen. It's a bit like Monty Python funneled through a National Geographic magazine. They don't announce the start, you just have to hang around a bit and when enough people are there, off they go.
Very surreal.
BTW, the last show of the evening got very bawdy. Yes it's Disney, but it's not for children.

"the Eruption" show at the close of the day at Paramont's Canada's Wonderland is Fantastic! It really looks spectacular on a clear night. I had the chance to see it last year, only by mistake; and I was glad I did. The authenticity of it rivels any of the closing shows of any of the Disney parks. You have to see it yourself to believe it.
Yeah, the hypnotist at Magic Mountain is worth checking out, when he is there. Other shows at magic mountain are usually pretty lame. I really like the ones at Universal Studios, especially Waterworld. The indiana jones show at mgm was also pretty cool. Lots of people like the wild west stunt show at knott's, but I just don't care for it.

When I heard about the Sea World Ohio take-over, I really didn't care about Shamu leaving. I am much more afraid that the replacement for the sea lion show will not be as funny or as good as it has been in past.
I also found the Gory, Gruesome, Grotesque, Horror Make-up Show at Universal Studios Florida funny as well. (I think I got all those adjectives right.)
