Wonder why SF's got complaints?

Yeah... obscure off-path areas like that are VERY easy to miss. I work in park services at a park, and I can vouch for what people are saying about the trashcans, it does signifigantly cut down on large items on the ground when there is always a trash can within a few feet.

Yea there's a lot, but it makes a HUGE difference... Cleaning a ride area at night is not so bad due to the huge number of trash cans in the ride area. There are 44 trash cans in Power Tower's ride area alone! (yea, we counted them)If there was only 10-15, we'd be there cleaning up for 30 minutes after the ride closed.

Dorney Park, around 4pm...Its gets easier, I'm told it's shift change...

I see 15+ in this picture of CP's main midway. I sometimes think they go just a little over board, but I also have trouble finding garbage on the midway.

I visited SFA for the first time in August 2001 and I have a vivid memory of the trash behind Mind Eraser. At least, keeping with the Six Flags AMERICA theme, it was mainly red, white and blue (Pepsi cups mostly).

When I saw all of that trash, in my sometimes dark (i.e. morbid) sense of humor, I told my wife "The D.C. police should look there if they want to find Chandra Levey... who knows what is burried under all of that."

I thought Six Flags always offered Coca-Cola products exclusively, it's funny that you would find a Pepsi cup. But I could be wrong...

Haha, well I've never been to Dorney yet I guess I'll have to see all these famous garbage cans for myself. The first pic of the midway with them is pretty damn funny.

I remember reading a few year's back about a ski resort developer who cited a study Disney did that said the maximum a guest would carry a piece of trash was 20 feet before dropping it on the ground.

Wow at CF parks they would have 3 or 4 chances to dispose of it within that distance.

Not quite. In addition to gum, the queue at La Monstre has a variety of bodily fluids gobbed on the wall. I honestly thought Six Flags would clean it up when they took over...

If I can remember - the dark ride at Conneaut Lake Park - Devil's Den I think it's called, has the same gum problem.

No... pretty sure it was Pepsi.

1) Cups were Red White and Blue

2) The thing that the one foodstand was not out of was Sierra Mist... a Pepsi Product.

Yeah, when I used to go to SFWoA, they always offered Coke, maybe it did change. Thanks for the info.

^^ Conneaut's dark ride prides itself on that gum wall. There's even a sign for it "The Famous Gum Wall" it reads.

Hell, I think I've even stuck my gum on there a few times in the past. I've also had a rollback down the lift hill once or twice but hey, who's counting?

You guys are partly correct. For years, the soft drink choice at the Six Flags parks varied based on local agreements. Some like SFA and SFKK had Pepsi, while SFWOA and SFGAm sold Coke. In fact, there has been a Pepsi building/plant across from the Twisted Twins at SFKK.
However in 2003, Six Flags signed a deal with Coca-Cola making it the exclusive soft drink in all their parks.

And then about SFWOA, when Cedar Fair bought it, they switched to Pepsi because that's what Cedar Fair sells.

Yeah Kennywood has sold Pepsi too for as long as I can remember.

At SFSTL in the Batman queue...I noticed when I went there on Saturday that they finally covered up the wall of gum. What's the point of putting gum on a wall?

I myself work at a SF park, and let me tell you, no matter how many trash cans you put out, there will always be litter. It's almost as if the guests go out of their way to make our jobs harder. There are a lot more trash cans in a park than most people think, just count next time you go to the park, you might be really surprised. It just sucks that people don't have the respect to pick up after themselves.

As far as gum walls go, it's really nasty. And it's not exactly easy to get that gum off. And rather stupid of people to have gum at a park when they aren't allowed to have them on the rides anyway.
