It most definitely is. (I took a few Hospitality courses in college)

I am pretty good friends with John Riggleman, Director of Operations at Sea World Orlando-spoke in my class and it took off from there-he started at Cedar Point seasonally, and has been in the industry for like 25-30 years. His degree is in Chemistry. He recently got a master's in Finance or Accounting, because he was informed by higher ups that a master in Finance or Accounting (can't remember which one) will further help his knowledge with GM position (but he is already extremely knowledgeable). So just as I plan to do (maybe not GM-too much stress-but a Dir. of Ops doesn't sound bad) work your way up!

I saw Riggleman carrying a plunger once to the bathrooms by the front gate in 2001. If your were working at SW Orlando then, you could have did that. Friends help friends.

Be good at kissing ass and playing politics.

True, Paula. But I would say HW is a much more pleasant place to work than your average corporate grindhouse :).

1. Find a park or chain you want to work for.

2. Start working seasonally.

3. Do whatever is asked of you and do it without complaining.

4. Display excellent customer service.

5. Ask questions to full timers, let folks know what your goals are, but don't be over-zealous.

6. BUST YOUR REAR!

7. Learn to be a leader someone who likes to work with others and shows good judgement.

8. (This is the hardest one) Be at the right place at the right time after doing 1-8.

I'd pay Paula to be a HW employee.

No matter what I do, my rear keeps following me around! :)
