4-across woodie?

Could it happen? It was just a thought that went through my mind. Seating 4-across on a woodie. Of course, the track would be a little bigger, but could it work?

Why would you want this? Capacity? Personally, I'd much rather be assured of having a "window" seat.

It just seems like a lot of coaster types are switching to four-across (flying coasters, super invertigos, 4th deminsion, etc). I think it would look very awkward, but would generate a lot more speed...I guess this isn't the best idea, because the supports would almost have to be steel instead of wood (or would they?) I don't know. It was just a spontaneous thought.

It just dosn't seem right to me. It would look too strange for 4-across seating on a woodie. I really don't mind it on steel coasters though.

How would it look strange? I think it would be cool.
And why would the supports have to be steel? Anything is possible, but it's all about cost. I think that would be awesome.

For the love of god, no. That is the last thing in the world I would ever want.

If B&M designed there own woodie (the train on psyclone had to meet the track section demands) then I think they would make it four across as it would increase speed and capacity. The only problems are more wood needed so extra costs.

I've always thought that B&M should make wood coasters in the future too! It's a neat idea. Maybe they could even do a floorless wooden coaster some how...that would be interesting!

How about an inverted woodie? Could that even be possible? Probably not. Funny to think about though.

Sorry, got a little off topic with my imagination. I think a 4-across woodie would be great.

I just like the classic look of 2-across trains on woodies.

I think that it would produce too much wear and tear on the track and would require additional wood support. It's possible on Steel coasters because the structure is sturdier.

I think its possible but it would never happen. Just think of the cost involved in building a woodie now, but add 4 across trains and the track would have to be wider. It would cost too much!
