A little of Bordem + Allot of free time on my hands + Windows Paint = Kingda Ka. I thought I'd share my painting I just finished using Windows Paint. Sorry that if its somewhat blury when i coverted it to a Jpeg it went a distorted it a little. I still have some work to do like add's trains but really for the most part its finished. Now I know its not100% comparable to the real thing(ie": my launch is straight rather than inclined slowly upwards & the station is not exactly a replica of the real one being made) But I'd like to see you do better if your going to rag on those difference's ;). Here's the link to the pic.

Scroll down, sry for the inconvience. *** Edited 3/11/2005 3:32:45 AM UTC by SFDLdan***

wow good job. Did you start out with clouds as the background image? Those would be wicked hard to do in paint, (probably impossible.)

Dang, considering this was MS Paint, I'm quite impressed. You'd really have something awesome if you got your hands on something like Adobe Photoshop.

Pass da' sizzrup, bro!

Good job! If you don't have a graphics program download the Gimp. I bet you would be an awesome photoshopper!

Now just imagine what he could do with Corel...

Me? I'm dishonest, and a dishonest man you can always trust to be dishonest. Honestly. It's the honest ones you want to watch out for, because you can never predict when they're going to do something incredibly... stupid.

Impressive. some of the best MSPaint art I've ever seen.

Now it would be really cool if you make alot of images, moving the train in each one, and then combine them all into an animated .gif. It would give old Keithy a run for his money.

Thanks Allot for the awesome comments. Im glad you's really like it. To answer some questions.

The background sky&tree's were pasted each separately then edited to fit the picture to my liking. Then I brough the entire ride in form a separate drawing and placed it on the background. Pretty much like you do in any 3d graphic program you just import the background when its normally not there. This actually took me 3 evenings to make from start to finish.

Second the MS Paint is something I've always been messing around with since we got our first computer. Im no graphics major (I'm actually in AutoCAD) I've just come to find creative ways of drawing out coasters in 2d on this simplex program. It's just allot of comparing to real pictures and recreating it in Paint until I'm happy with what I got. I have some artistic abilities in my blood but as far as computer art programs MS Paint is the only thing I know. I always liked to think that I was better than the average MS Paint user, not to brag or anything, haha. To basically sum up how I created the drawing was nothing more than making custom colors to match and allot of line bending and line not to mention tons of erasing/copying pasting and testing out different styles form the thickness of the track to each level of the tower. Just making it all look as realistic as the program would let me.

As far as animation goes, I don't know anything about going about such a task. I mean I understand the basics but I don't have any programs where I could even try to make one. This is only like the 3rd drawing I've ever done on Paint the other 2 where MF, and X, Im definitely pleased with though how this one came out. I'm open for suggestions if anyone would like to see a particular ride. I normally don't do so drawings because It's tough to pick out the right ride that I can flow with. But I'm up for a challenge. Expect to see more from me in the future.
