Me? I'm dishonest, and a dishonest man you can always trust to be dishonest. Honestly. It's the honest ones you want to watch out for, because you can never predict when they're going to do something incredibly... stupid.

You are stuck for now. There is a cheesy DDR ripoff available for GC, but that's it. "DDR with Mario" is set to come out sometime, but details are sketchy... might be a Japan-only release.

You are better off at the arcade anyway. Home version suck in comparison.

It would be nice to practice on. How bad does the computer version suck?

You could pick up a PSone and Konamix for under $50, I bet. That's the cheapest way to practice actual DDR songs at home. Otherwise, you're going to have to spring for an Xbox or PS2.

Or, download Stepmania, even though it's probably really illegal.

"Standard Issue" Dance Pad: $15
Sony PlayStation (PSone): $20
DDR Konamix for PSX: $27.

I'm thinking of going the computer ebay way where you can download the newer mixes. Half the fun is going to the arcades and showing off. ;)

Don't buy any type of DDR for the computer off ebay...go download it for free at www.stepmania.com and download songs...also for free.

Stepmaina isn't illegal the only thing illegal bout SM is downloading copywrited songs and using it. Making your own steps to your own songs isn't illegal and SM the program isnt illegal also.

So all I have to do is download Stepmania, buy the USB convertor and Mats and I'm set?

Yeah, but like NorCal Kid so elegantly said, if you want to play *any* actual DDR songs, that's illegal.

Plus, playing in front of a 17-inch monitor with tinny little speakers just doesn't do it for me.

Well, it's better than the plug and play. It'll tide me over until (start praying) Mario DDR comes out in America.
