What to do in the winter months???

yeah.. isn't it great to read the topic, skip over ALL the posts, and start a new sub-topic? :)

Personally, I would have read all the other posts.. even if for no other reason to make sure someone didn't already say what I was going to say...

...but that's just me ;)

There are two posts that go off on the same tangent and I thought I add to it, I did read all of the answers.

If the rain keeps going the way it has been, i imagine many full time employees at many parks will be filling sandbag walls...

Touchdown.. it's ok. We were merely joking around.

I know for a fact that the only time a full timer can think about taking off is during the off-season. But off-season projects include a number of things such as painting, making new signs, and just repairing anything that needs to be fixed. Although the work day is shorter in the off-season still, a lot of work gets done.

What do full time maint. people do?? Well it is pretty much the only time to take any vacation (Florida seems to be the choice spot this season). As for tasks to do in the off season...

.. replacing of wheels, bearings, lapbar and OTSR ratchet systems, tearing down coasters to their frames and axels for NDT, re-wiring of control panels for new updates to control systems, retro-fitting seats in a 4-D theater, helping dissconnect electrical feeds for demolition of old buildings so the new water park can be built, and a few other odd jobs here and there.

.. but that's just me.. ;)

San Antonio has no purpose in closing for the season. Let's see, the high in SA is 61°. That is coastering weather. It is going to be in the 70s next weekend, WHY ARE THEY CLOSED! Dallas I can see as they are at 52 today. BUT SA!

Also on MO, CC opens on March 12th, SDC on March 17th, SFSL on March 25th, and then WOF on April 16th. Notice how late WOF opens.........
