Opening Dates?

I was wondering why PKI opens almost a full month before CP because they are only like 500 miles apart. Also I want to go to a park over spring break and i was wondering what parks open in late march or mid april. by the way i live in columbus! Can't answer the PKI/CP question with other than a guess that southern Ohio warms quicker than northern Ohio with the lake winds. SFStL opens the end of March on Easter weekend.

The difference in weather from Cincy to Sandusky is fairly drastic, particularly in the spring when Lake Erie acts a giant cooler to coastal areas.

Elf, you could've gone to PKD's website to find out when they open, but I guess that was too easy. Anyway the answer is March.

March 25...SFGAdv opens. Whether Kingda Ka will be open or not by then remains to be seen...

My sincere apologies. But like I said, usually mid-March.With opening day a few months away, I'm surprised they don't have the calendar up yet.

Well SFA is opening on april 9th this year....strange as to why they seem to have cut short the usual preview weekends they've been doing the past few seasons.

As usual PKD will probably open in late march,hopefully TR:TR will have been completed & tested so they'll have it open by then....can't wait to hear the reviews on this one.

PKI opens on April 9th. True, Cincinnati is not surrounded by a lake. However, last year`s opening day the park closed at 5 o`clock instead of 9 o`clock because the high was 40 and it was windy all day, so the weather can still be quite blustery in April in Cinnati. Also, SFKK usually opens the last weekend in March.

Are you confusing Coney and PKI Coastersrz, we did not close at 5 the opening day, so I dunno what your thinking, and we would have closed at 10 and not 9.

CP and PKI are about 200 miles apart.

PKD will be open on the weekends starting March 19.
