Park Entrance Fee Bug

Haven't seen this mentioned before so pardon this if it has been.

I'm playing Jeff's Volcano Valley scenario (finally!) - and I'm screwing around with the park entrance fee trying to maximize profits.

I noticed that if people aren't carrying enough money to enter the park, rather than turning around and leaving, they just enter without paying.

For example, at $49 entrance, people come through, my total funds raise by the $49 per person and if you click on the peep, it shows $49 beside "amount paid to enter". But if you raise it to $70 (more than the peeps are bringing to Volcano Valley :) ) - then they enter, no money is added to your total funds, and if you click on the peep it says $0.00 next to "amount paid to enter"

Anyone else able to replicate this? It's a serious financial bug in the game. (surprise, huh?)

Not only that, but have you also noticed that there's a peep count ceiling based on the amount of stuff in your park? You can advertise all you want, but no one will come. Drop a $20k coaster on the map, and suddenly the peeps come pouring in.

Hmmm. Didn't notice that. I did start by maxing the loan and adding a big ol' woodie to the front corner, so peeps kind of rolled in from the time I opened the park.

Maybe that's why the peep generation percentage in the scenario editor goes over 100%? (for example, at 125% it will generate an additional 25% above what it normally would for the amount of rides in the park)

Interesting.. I should try that at some real-life amusement parks:

Me: [with puppy-dog face] but I don't have enough to get in, mister.
Admissions personnel: Ok, you don't have to pay anything then. Enjoy your day!

no wonder the funds are so messed up especially when you play scenarios like that. as for real life amuesment parks ....my comp couldn't handle that just yet...lol!:)

No, I meant actually going to the park and trying to get in because you don't have enough physical cash for the full-price all-day admission ticket ;)

You know.. I was thinking that as I typed, but I wasn't going to mention them by name.

Oh! I know! It's not a glitch at all. After all, RCT2 was branded with Six Flags parks, maybe this is their way of stealthily including elements from SFI into RCT3? :)

redman, good suggestion if only they had one of those, but then they could write in that they payed a certain fee, for the pass, just another excuse for Frontier and Atari...."Thats not a bug, thats a feature!" :)
