Is that Sidewinder the same model as the one at Adventureland? I sure hope so.

Hmmm...I know Flying Tigers is made by Zamperla. By looking at the video, it looks like a suspended whip. I have no clue who makes Sidewinder.

I have ridden Sidewinder... very fun and intense, and doesn't even make me dizzy. It really feels like you're going to go upside down.

Sidewinder is one of the most popular rides at Adventureland. I think it will be a great addition.

Moser makes Sidewinder, and it is the same as Adventureland's. In fact, Adventureland's is the one in the pictures. *** Edited 11/23/2004 9:26:28 PM UTC by coasterwiz***

That's how I'd describe it...a suspended whip.

Awesome! I had a blast on the Sidewinder this past summer and was hopeing that other small parks would maybe get one in the coming years. Great addition for the park.

Dan, you aren't making friends by talking about going to KG multiple times a week.....but you KNEW that...;)

I make even less friends when I'm there destroying people on the Bumper Cars. At least Jack likes me. :) He doesn't like many people.

Not to turn this into a vs thread, but for those of you who have ridden the HUSS Giant Frisbee, how do the two compare?

Um.........they both have their special moments. :-P

The HUSS's are more intensified, while the others are more funky...sorta makes you feel like you are drunk.

AWESOME! Great addition to Knoebels.....I am already looking forward to the next PPP. :-P

Interesting. There's absolutely no info on the Moser site about this ride type. You certain it's a Moser?

Edit: Nevermind, I've found enough proof elsewhere that it is. *** Edited 11/24/2004 6:01:28 PM UTC by Vater***

Its Zamperla. Go to http://www.zamperla.it/ and check out the specs for Discovery. Zamperla offers two types of seating arrangements: facing inside, facing outside.

Sidewinder is a Moser or Mosier, this is taken from the Adventureland website:

In 2004 a ride called the "Sidewinder" was added to Adventureland. The "Sidewinder" is a giant pendulum that pivots back and forth 240 degrees, swinging riders over 6 stories into the sky on a rotating platform that revolves 360 degrees. The "Sidewinder" was engineered and designed by Mosier Rides of Italy especially for Adventureland Park

It's a good thing Zamperla has a really good sales force ;) That website is virtually unnavigable...lousy!

While none of the frisbee-type rides I've ridden have been bad, I think Zamperla's is my least favorite of them all. It has the usual crappy Zamperla restraints which causes a lot of discomfort while riding. The Moser sidewinder is decent, but its intensity is in the spinning, not the swinging, so it can be very dizzying. I thought it was even more dizzying than a Huss frisbee.

Neither of these rides come close to the Huss Giant Frisbee or the KMG Afterburner.

Are you sure it's Zamperla Moosh?

Look at the pic on Knoebels site, then look at the one on the Zamperla site. The one on the Knoebels site has more connection points out to the seats then the one on the Zamperla version. It could just be a redesign too.

That oberservation comes from playing too much Megatouch on my nights out!:)

While I was at Martin's Fantasy Island this summer I saw the Zamperla version in action. I was going to ride it until I saw it running. The support have a very funky shake and wobble to them while the ride is in motion. They just looked like they moved too much for their own good. I love Zamperla rides too, just not that one. *** Edited 11/24/2004 6:41:30 PM UTC by coasterpunk***
