RCT3 Coaster Building Questions

I had a chain lift "launch" a train up, but when the train fell back down, the anti-rollback mechanism did not engage. Instead, the train rolled all the way to the station where it stopped.

Screwy, ehh?

Doing a straight drop into a banked 180 degree turn then unbanking the transition pieces look odd.
