PKI's 2003 end of season Profits....

Im just wondering... Does anyone know an estimate or exact figure of what PKI's 2003 end of season profits where?

Profit or revenue? Not that it matters, because Viacom doesn't release park-by-park numbers.

Well, What ever it is that the park has to spend and the end of the year... after all expenses to operate the park are paid for... pretty much what they can put in there pocket and call "Theres". This also includes money to build to attractions and update the parks.

P.S) Ok, if they cant release official numbers... give me a ruff guess. I can live with that! 50 million, 100 million, 500 million.

I don't think they release this kind of information, and I don't think anyone on here would know it.

If its really important to you, I'd suggest e-mailing the park, though even then I don't know if they'd be willing to share that information.

They made $7,874,027.54 from $57,438,763.72 in revenue.

Not only does Viacom not report the individual parks' financial information, they don't report the Parks division as an independent entity. In 2003, Paramount Parks were under the "Entertainment" group which also included theatrical motion pictures (Paramount Studios)and publishing. (In prior years, Paramount Parks was part of the "Retail & Recreation" group that also included Blockbuster and Madison Square Garden...)

The entire division (parks, movie studios, and publishing) earned $271.4 million on revenues of $4.1 billion. (The "Entertainment" divisions contributed roughly 15% of Viacom's overall revenues of $26.58 billion in 2003.)

Assuming that each of the three components in Entertainment contributed 1/3 of the profits (which is pretty unlikely...), Paramount Parks as a whole would have earned $90.5 million, or $18.1 million per each of the five parks. But, like I said, it's pretty unlikely the contributions would have been this equitable, to calculate PKI's profit this easily.

Viacom has changed the reporting relationships (as part of the bigger corporate reorganization earlier this year), so that Paramount Parks will be part of MTV Networks. But, it's unlikely that it will be any easier to discern the park's profits.

Reading back over this I realize that I watch WAY too much CNBC!!
