Wild fire and Tennesse Tornado

Dolly World and Silver dollar City are both owned by the same parent company. Why do you suppose with the success of the Tennesee Tornado (Arrow) that Silver Dollar didn't use Arrow to produce Wild Fire (B&M)?

Another question, Magnum @ Cedar Point was and is consistantly voted #1. Why do you think that other Hypercoasters in Cedar Fair parks were produced by Morgan and not by Arrow (who created Magnum)?

Variety is the answer. Why would Silver Dollar build an arrow looper when they can go to Dollywood? The CP question has me puzzled. I'm not sure why Cedar Fair did that. Most hypercoasters go for speed and have very similar layouts despite different ride maufacturers...not true with a looper.

Listen to me, people. Parks come up with the concept of the ride they want, and then figure how to do it with the most profit. That is the only reason they do anything.

On a related note, I read somewhere that SDC Co. has a 3-coaster contract with Arrow and also with B&M. I suppose that means that they have 2 left on each contract. Does anyone know if there's any truth in this?

As far as the Arrow - Morgan shift goes, Arrow's hyper designer/engineer defected to Morgan.

I read that too about the 3 coaster contract w/ Arrow and B&M. To go further I read that SDC was to get 2 B&M's and 1 Arrow, while Dollywood would get 2 Arrows and 1 B&M. For Dollywood i would think the B&M would be a invert since TT is a sit-down looper, and the other Arrow maybe a hyper. With SDC probably a B&M hyper and maybe a 4D. But anybodys guess is as good as mine.

With the mountanous landscape of Dollywood, there are a lot of possibilities. Maybe we'll see a steel "Boulder Dash" type ride that winds through the forest and hills. Maybe inverted? Whatever it is, I can't wait.

Actually, Dollywood will get the world's first hyper-inverted-stand-up from Arrow and then a new carless-floorless-stand-up from B&M in 2010. I know this because my friend's dad's brother's former roommate's dog works at both parks simultaneously. ;) Just kidding, don't flame me. Just wanted to chime in with a spoof of the rumor mill out there. :) Seriously, I haven't a clue about Dollywood and SDC since I'm all the way in California, but I would love it if both parks started to build more coasters. Gives me more of a reason to visit them, as if Wildfire wasn't reason enough! :) Peace. :)

I think they chose B&M for the Wildfire for variety as well as to make a strong entry into the "real amusement park" field. Or they didn't like something about TT -- maintenance maybe, who knows. But since B&M is the premier multielement company out there right now and given their reputation I think SD Co. also wanted a sure-fire winner. And they'll get it by going with B&M, whereas some of Arrow's older rides have a reputation of being rough. Aging problems, maybe?

I heard about the B&M and Arrow contract too.
Do you suppose that perhaps Dolly World will get an Arrow Virginia Reel or a 4D?

I have talked with Mike Hutherson, General Manager of the SDC in Branson, personally and I can guarantee that there is NO multi-coaster contract with either Arrow or B&M. This info comes straight from the top.
