Manhattan Express Improvements

I don't know if you would call them improvements at all but...

Over the summer the Express got new magnetic brakes on its midcourse and final brake run (they are almost completely silent now).

It also got a new lighting package on the side of its trains. They are blue/green flashing panels in the shape of flames...it looks really cool at night when it goes through the loops. Wow, that sounds pretty neat. I haven't heard many people talk about this coaster fondly with the exception of the twist and dive. Nice to see some upgrades to an older ride. Magnetic brakes seem to be the way to go nowadays.

I am not sure what the ride was like in the past, but I rode the ride for the first time last week and there are more serious problems than brakes and lights.

I'll never ride ME again, even if they're giving rides away. The fact that they charge $10-$12 per ride is almost criminal. It is, without question, the roughest coaster I've ever ridden.
Putting a lighting package on the trains is kinda like spraying perfume on a big pile of dog poop...It might smell a little better, but it's still dog poop.

Anyone know who did the work on the brakes?... seeing as how Togo is no longer in business.

As long as it has the same restraints, I'll never ride it again. Now if Premier engineered a lap bar mod for them, then I'd even stay at the hotel.

I don't know why they haven't. Isn't Premier responsible for TOGO's rides in the U.S. through some kind of agreement?

Rode it once, because I had to experience it, prolly never again, unless like Jeff says, mod lap bars.

Can the MCBR still stop a train if it needs to? Or have they reduced the number of trains on the track?

Is it worse than Flashback at SFMM, or Viper in Jersey?

It's not as bad as Viper, but it's close.
It's definitely not worth $10.

Flashback is far worse. ME really isn't that bad if you ride in the front seat.

It's no way near worth $10. But, the thing runs all day with full trains. They'll keep charging that as long as people will pay it.

Rode it back in June...The bruise on the left side of the head is barely visible now!

I rode it twice on two different trips. I think y'all are whiners. It's a little rough but it's still pretty fun.

Though $10.50 (last time I rode) is way too steep for me to ever ride it again. I also don't like the assigned seating.

$10.50?! That's an incredible profit!

Worst piece of junk I've ever ridden. They should pay you $10 to ride it! 4 of us had headaches when we go off that thing.

They still have friction brakes because you can still see air canisters along the MCBR railing. Whereas there used to be like 6 or 7 canisters, now there are two (from what I can tell). So I assume that it can still stop a train.

Unlike when it first opened, this ride rarely runs more than 2 trains because the demand isn't there. I remember when it was the hottest thing in Vegas and it was running 4 trains with a hour wait...minimal stacking too!

I must have had the only good ride of the year when I was there in May, because I loved it. Nowhere near as bad as Shackwave was at SFGAm.
