Over the summer the Express got new magnetic brakes on its midcourse and final brake run (they are almost completely silent now).
It also got a new lighting package on the side of its trains. They are blue/green flashing panels in the shape of flames...it looks really cool at night when it goes through the loops. Also the headlights and tail lights on the trains flash as well now. *** Edited 9/2/2004 9:43:55 PM UTC by haiderodes*** *** Edited 9/3/2004 11:43:57 PM UTC by haiderodes***

Though $10.50 (last time I rode) is way too steep for me to ever ride it again. I also don't like the assigned seating.

Can the MCBR still stop a train if it needs to? Or have they reduced the number of trains on the track?
They still have friction brakes because you can still see air canisters along the MCBR railing. Whereas there used to be like 6 or 7 canisters, now there are two (from what I can tell). So I assume that it can still stop a train.
Unlike when it first opened, this ride rarely runs more than 2 trains because the demand isn't there. I remember when it was the hottest thing in Vegas and it was running 4 trains with a hour wait...minimal stacking too!
