SFGAm American Eagle and stupid people

Hey, I'm wondering if I'm the only one that notices this, but why is it hard to understand "push down, then pull up on your lap bar" at the end of the American Eagle? How many people that have been there have gotten a good laugh from the people stuck in the train, trying frantically to just pull up on the lapbar? And how many of you ARE one of the people just trying to pull up, not pushing down first? I'm just wondering about this. I kind of find it funny how stupid some people are.

I see this a lot too. But sometimes the lapbars just stick and don't come up, so it's not always their fault. And some of us have been dumb enough to mash the bar down so hard there's no room to push it any further, but I've been able to get out with only slight difficulty. So far I haven't been able to get myself stuck and get free rides, but I'm still working on it. :)

the problem with the Eagle is that you can only push down when that buzz goes off. If you wait too long, you have to wait for the buzz again. People aren't stupid, because I don't see the same thing on Viper.

Let's say you didn't hear the instruction...perhaps because you just got off a wild ride and the last thing on your mind is trying to make sense of what is coming through the messed-up PA. You want to get out. How do you get out? Push up? Makes sense to me. If it doesn't work that way, then an operator should be there to help. Sure it may get frustrating having to do it over and over...but it's you job!

I don't think the instructions are that hard to listen to though. I have never been stuck, but I have seen many people who have. I know this is sorta out of subject, but I heard that one side of the Eagle will be backwards due to it's 20th anneversery? How bout anyone else??

I think it's sad that you think it's funny how stupid some people are. Have you any decency, or are you the kind of person who tripped people in the school cafeteria, and laughed as they fell?

Well, I must admit; you can't help but to laugh at some of the stupid things people do. Though, getting stuck or not being able to undo your lapbar isn't funny.

Stupid is passing a huge height requirement sign at the front of the line with your kid and yelling at the operator for not letting the kid on after they waited an hour.

Stupid is running across the bumpercar floor and sliding head first into a car even though there are signs everywhere, the operator mentions it over and over, aaand then trying to sue the company....perhaps running and slipping isn't stupid...people get excited...but the lawsuit part is.

Working as a ride op you have to give people a little benifit of the doubt, BUT! Stupidity should not come with you to the theme park! For example...

Me: "Welcome aboard the Canyon Blaster please walk straight into your row, once again straight into your row do not cross rows. If your restraint if down, please pull it up and have a seat. Please quickly have a seat."

What do I get?

People saying "my restraint isn't up, why cant i sit over there, if that seat is empty why cant i ride in it, they arent locking, are they gonna lock, are you gonna check this thing, can you check his/her restraint because that's my daughter"

IT NOT DIFFICULT TO FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS

and my all time favorite stupid statement-

ME: He can't ride becasue he is only 40", he must be 48" to ride.

GUEST: But he's my son (with a serious look on his face)

ME: UM...*choke"... He can be your son, but he can't ride on this ride for his saftey.

GUEST: (yells obsenities and goes off yelling past three separate height lines that state the height requierment)

People aren't stupid. They just do stupid things sometimes. I am not exempt. The point I was trying to make, without sounding like a judge, is that it ISN'T funny to laugh at someone's stupidity. I'm sorry - this is a really touchy subject for me. I have a real problem with people who look down on others because they do stupid things. As if they are above doing stupid things themselves.

Ok. Let me clear something up. I've (unfortuantly) had my lapbar on the Eagle too tight, and I still got it up the first buzz. That really pissed me off, too. It killed airtime. Also, not hearing the instructions. I can understand... if your deaf. Otherwise, when your waiting in line, you should hear it about 4 or 5 times! And another thing, everyone that goes on before you shows you how to get out, push down, then pull up. Simple. Although there are a few exceptions. Sometimes the things just stick, I realize that. I had to help a couple people out on the Fiddler's Fling at SFGAm once. It was easy. Just kick the button at the bottom of the car. I've seen it done many times, but the people trying to help the people stuck before I came didn't know it existed. I guess it just boils down to people are not observant enough. I guess they really arn't stupid after all.

And here I am feeling old because I know that to close the lap bar, you have to PUSH FORWARD then PULL BACK. *sigh*. Pity they don't work like that anymore.
